Collections

I almost didn't notice, but only almost. Sebastian Schaffer released his first record “Collections” on October 13, 2023. Even though I tend to buy long-playing records at the moment, I bought it now and treated myself to the record via Apple Music. I suspect that the record is also available to buy on other music streaming services.

Collections consists of a total of nine songs, one or two of which I had already presented here on the weblog, as singles, so to speak. What I can now notice is that the songs now sound much better than the YouTube videos before.

And to make my readers a little more curious, the titles are listed here: Silence, About Ya, poets, Moon, Touch Me, Together, Stories, When You're Here and Answers. I won't reveal which song is my personal favorite.

Rundschreiben

Another month has passed and some people have already asked me where the newsletters were. The circular for the Free Voters may have been lost in the hustle and bustle of the last few days and so I will probably add another one soon - we always have something to report.

The EUROPA-UNION circular has not actually been sent out yet. I will finish and send this out later today. That would probably have been done already, but then a comment came in about my social media plugin and I started tinkering with the blog again. Now I hope that the result will be recognized as a compromise by as many readers as possible.

Walk

Today we were able to stroll a little through Heilbronn in the best weather, this time directly to the Neckar, along it to the Neckarbogen and across Europaplatz and the avenue back again.

We were able to clearly see the effects of the commitment of Dieter schwarz observe. He has actually initiated a project of the century and wants to make our hometown a really attractive city again and not just for welfare recipients.

It moves a lot in a very short time - by Heilbronn standards. Unfortunately, one must immediately recognize that every urban development always takes place together with the local population or not. If you want to create a new Heilbronn, you either rebuild it somewhere else and then look for the right population (examples: Brasilia or the new Egyptian capital) or you rebuild the city itself, which would probably be an operation with an open heart (example: Stuttgart). The latter has the problem that it happens much more slowly and over several human lives, and all measures have to be based on the existing population - you can't replace all of us Heilbronners at once.

"The people are the city."

WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE, CORIOLANUS (1608)

Heilbronn still has the problem that, on the one hand, it attracts less intellectual and often unwilling people (welfare state products) and, on the other hand, high achievers migrate from Heilbronn due to a lack of adequate employment opportunities or urban attractiveness. This problem was recognized years ago, which is why there is now increased involvement in real schools, smaller attractions (like the Experience) and reasonably attractive new development areas.

Unfortunately, Heilbronn also has the problem that the Heilbronn decision-makers in the city and the local council might even be willing to support Schwarz's commitment constructively and steer it in the right direction (as is usual in a democracy), but unfortunately it's easy for them lacks the necessary competence. And so the new, entirely praiseworthy and certainly well-intentioned private projects are not properly supported or supplemented by the city.

And so can Dieter schwarz continue to try - which he will hopefully continue to do for as long as possible - to set accents and compensate for one or two deficiencies, but that way and due to a lack of competent city support it will still take another few decades until it can have even a halfway positive effect, although there is always the danger is that all of his measures will simply fizzle out in the medium to long term.

For example, B. Experimenta once started very strongly and is now adapting more and more to the existing conditions. The Munich university outsourcing will also have to suffer this fate, because it lacks sufficient substance (money alone is not enough!) to be able to operate a real university in Heilbronn. And the IPAI idea only has a future in Heilbronn if we manage to offer those working there good options for commuting to the surrounding large cities such as Mannheim, Karlsruhe or Stuttgart, at least in the first few decades.

That's why you first have to bring the infrastructure up to date and make it possible for people to get in and out of Heilbronn as quickly as possible. The connection to the larger cities must be possible within 30 minutes and the airport must be reachable in 45 minutes. Then you can Heilbronn the ideal commuter location and even expand one with charm (e.g. wine village, vineyard and Neckar paths).

After that, it is absolutely necessary to expand all basic education centers (kindergartens, primary and secondary schools) so that a European minimum standard of education can be ensured in Heilbronn again. Half-educated people keep their city clean on their own and can also do so public toilets use it in such a way that the city administration can at least reopen those that are still there.

Once you have achieved this, you can devote more time to other projects such as children's playgrounds and sports facilities, which all in all makes it easier for young, productive and able families to move to Heilbronn.

I claim that if the urban infrastructure is harmonious again, attractive pubs, shops, businesses and other attractions will settle in Heilbronn again. This means that higher educational and cultural institutions can also rely on sufficient resources and even competitive sports will gain a foothold in Heilbronn again. And attractive new buildings then emerge as if by themselves.

I also claim that instead of aid organizations and projects, it would be better to promote and expand our public schools and libraries!

The solution to many of our problems would be: less social assistance and transfer payments (especially no more for the wealthier parts of the population) and more opportunities for everyone!

Because we can still carry the horse to the water but cannot force it to drink. And so we can also set up more garbage containers - that is just as successful; But I still have hope with a horse.

And as long as many of our fellow citizens are not halfway intelligent and house trained, only draconian punishments will help - the only thing this type of person understands!

Addendum 2.11.2023

Today we can in the Heilbronn Voice (November 2, 2023, 14:55 am) from Joachim Friedl learned that now - after all these years (!) - the city administration has taken note of the problem. It is doubtful whether the responsible employees understood the problem.

In any case, those responsible continue to refuse to take action. They would rather watch these dirty pigs do their mess on video cameras instead of taking action against the garbage terrorists.

Inactive city administrations are also making themselves liable to prosecution!
