About Kümmerle's weblog | about me

How it all began

At the end of the 1970s I started writing for the magazines of “my” political youth organization at the time, the Young Liberals. These might have been my first published articles. At the beginning of the 1980s, the topics revolved around nuclear power, the use of catalytic converters in internal combustion engines and, again and again, security and defense policy.

Even during my studies and professional life, I kept writing individual articles, and I was more and more interested own poems practiced. And with the advent of the Internet and its ever more popular uses, I began to write more and more about God and the world.

In 2005 I decided to publish a personal weblog under my own address. In 2017 I moved my weblog to WordPress and changed the domain to kuemmerle.name.

As always, I write there about God and the world. Over the years, the topics of Europe, politics in general, Heilbronn internals and technology have emerged. I summarize everything else in the General category so that the whole thing is not too overloaded.

I wish all readers an entertaining stay on my weblog and hope that they can take away some food for thought. And should one or the other cause you to disagree, I am particularly pleased and hope for a fruitful discussion for both sides.

I am very pleased that other bloggers have recently agreed to write their own posts on my weblog.

I was born in Heilbronn on October 30, 1962 and grew up there. I was baptized and confirmed in the Nikolaikirche, like my grandmother before her. I went to school at the Dammgrundschule and the Robert-Mayer-Gymnasium. As a student, I volunteered politically and in the rescue service at the German Life Saving Society.

As a responsible citizen, I did my military service immediately after graduating from high school and then became a career officer. I completed my academic training at the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Munich with a diploma in education.

I've been married to a girl from Heilbronn for over 30 years and I'm the father of two sons, who also served our country for a good year after graduating from high school and saved lives as paramedics with the Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund - I'm very proud of that! My eldest son has now followed in my footsteps and is in training to become an infantry officer.

For our country, I worked abroad for several years with and without my family, and I was involved in several foreign assignments. Despite my limited free time, I was able to do voluntary work in various sports, rifle and cultural associations as well as clubs and societies, also because of the many changes of location.

That's why I had to keep changing parishes, although I'm still very connected to the Martin Luther parish in Ulm, also because my two sons were confirmed there.

My passion over the years has remained the European idea with the European federalists as the supporting association. That's why I've been district chairman of the EUROPA-UNION Heilbronn for a good fifteen years and support other honorary positions there.

After I retired, my wife and I returned home and are starting to get more involved in Heilbronn again. In the meantime, I feel at home again in the southern parish and also return to the Nikolai parish from time to time.

Since July 6, 2022, I have also been the chairman of Freie Wahler – Freie Wahlervereinigung Heilbronn e. V

Among other things, the "Cross of Honor of the German Armed Forces in Gold" and the "Médaille de la Défense Nationale d'argent" (France).
Furthermore, service medals of NATO, the EU and the Bundeswehr in gold, silver, bronze and with service number.

European Federalists & EUROPA-UNION Heilbronn

I am convinced that commitment to the European federalists is a civic duty, and not only here in Europe. And the EUROPA-UNION Heilbronn proves that duties can also be fun.

Local Politics — Free Voters Heilbronn

I'm trying in the local politics bring in Even if it doesn't work out, I don't have to blame myself later for not doing anything.

It's also fun, especially the local election campaigns, and you get to know very interesting people and many others a little better. A win-win situation, so to speak.

As a free voter, I don't have to belong to any party.

German-African Association Heilbronn

In the course of my professional activities in and for Africa, I took a liking to this continent and was surprised that there is an association in Heilbronn that brings together Africans from all countries who have settled in our region in a very informal way with other people interested in Africa. In my opinion, this works very well.

I also support various farm projects in East Africa and make sure that 100% of my help arrives. The latest project is one Moringa farm a good friend.

reading sponsorships

Since I like to read myself, I decided to take on a reading sponsorship. So now I read regularly at my old elementary school and every year as part of “Man reads aloud”.

Since I always meet other nice people, I am quite logically also a member of the Circle of Friends of the City Library Heilbronn eV

Since 2001 I have been doing what is now called blogging. First as an experiment on my own and new websites and then regularly from 2005 and in the form of a personal weblog, which I then moved to this website. There are now quite a number of blog posts here. Unfortunately, because of my constant experimentation, some of them have migrated to digital nirvana.

In return, nice fellow citizens have been supporting me since 2020 by being here as Guest blogger write and thus make my weblog more varied and, above all, more interesting.

I have been writing articles and reports on current topics and all about Europe for a long time. Since 2020, my book "Europe is for everyone!" has been available in hardcover or paperback.

Since 2021 my book "EUROPA-UNION" has been available as a paperback, as a bound book and also as an e-book.

Also since 2021, the English-language edition of my Europe book entitled “We Are All Part of Europe!” has been available in bookstores.

Further books are in the planning stage or in the making.

With a little tutoring from my better half, we recently started dancing again. And once the pandemic is under control, we hope to be able to do this on a regular basis.

I had my first dance lessons with Wolf auf der Allee, and then continued at the Wolf-Boppel dance school on Paulinenstrasse. I was then able to use what I learned very well in my job and was still twirling from one ball to the next in the 1980s.

Since 2021, my better half and I have been learning to dance again at the Brenner dance school on Wilhelmstrasse.

If you browse through the posts, you will surely find one or the other spelling mistake. I am very happy to receive relevant information.

Fritz Singer already put this problem into a poem decades ago and at the same time combined it with another mystery.
