I have recently integrated a few “donation buttons” into my weblog. On the one hand, the “Wobbly cup“ returned again, but this time without wobbling. Although I really enjoyed this, some readers unfortunately found it far too disruptive to their own reading experience.
On the other hand, I found a now widely used “coffee mug“ very interesting and have now integrated it into the blog for the first time. And since all good things come in threes, I reactivated that too PayPal donation button.
Probably the most interesting fundraising campaign for professionals via Patreon I quickly discontinued it because it simply didn't justify the additional effort for my personal weblog.
And so I'm now building on the two coffee fundraisers that you can find at the bottom left and right of the weblog. I am very pleased that my most avid readers have already bought me one and some even three coffees!
Since the three donation buttons fit well into my current weblog layout and haven't bothered any readers so far, I'll probably keep them for a little longer.
Now I'm excited to see how fundraising develops further. If more donations come in than I can drink coffee, I will use the money to keep this blog technically up to date.
