If it wasn't cringeworthy, we could laugh about it. Eretz Nehederet is an Israeli satirical show that regularly posts videos with English subtitles on YouTube. The show has been online since 2003 and is probably one of the most popular programs in Israel.
I first became aware of this program when it mocked the BBC's recent coverage of Gaza. The following music video should also be of interest to my readers, as it addresses a topic that has already been discussed here on the blog several times. Namely, that supposed aid organizations enrich themselves from the suffering of people. And if these organizations are totalitarian and criminal, there are no longer any limits. With all the billions of euros in tax and donation money that have flowed into Gaza in the last few decades, there probably won't be any poor people there for a very long time. Unfortunately this is not the case. Interestingly, there are some very wealthy ex-residents who, without having their own companies and businesses, have achieved wealth that is beyond measure for the average citizen.
Before Christmas, please pay particular attention to who you donate your hard-earned money to and to which good cause. And rest assured, it’s the “middlemen” who benefit the most — it has always been that way and will continue to be that way.
