Martin Eicher, the singer and guitarist of the group Grauzone, wrote the song Eisbär in 1980, which was first released on the compilation album “Swiss Wave – The Album” (1980). This means that the piece can be assigned to Deutsche Welle without any ifs or buts.
It only really became known to us with the single release in 1981. I liked the piece from the start and always fits my own mood quite well.
Later I even bought the single as a mini CD, which was so small that it must have fallen out of my collection at some point during transport. On the back there was the song “I love you”, which was also very minimalist.
