While correcting the first attempts at solutions by students in my lecture series, I suddenly remember the following video from Orchestral Maneuvers In The Dark.
OMD was founded in 1978 by Andy McCluskey and Paul Humphreys was founded and was part of the permanent repertoire of music stations in the 1980s during my own studies. The above song “(Forever) Live and Die” came out on the 1986 record “The Pacific Age” and makes me think of one or two student parties.
OMD is probably better known today for the song “Enola Gay” from 1980, which appeared on the record “Organization” and was its only single release.
Interestingly, when I hear this song I always think of my own high school graduation: “It’s eight fifteen – And that’s the time that it’s always been.”
