The song "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood" was first recorded in June 1964 by Nina Simone sung; wrote the song Benny Benjamin, Gloria Caldwell and Sol Marcus. Only released as a single in October, the song was included on the album “Broadway Blues Ballads,” which was released in December 1964.
The Animals only made the song really successful and known to a wider public in 1965.
But it wasn't until 1977 that Santa Esmeralda managed to make the song unforgettable, this time with an extensive intro. For me, there is hardly a “goal of the month” that I don't associate with this song - at least I haven't seen any since then. But I’ve thought about “Kill Bill” every time since 2003.
And no matter who sings this song, I am still often misunderstood today. My own intentions are still and always only the best, which most of my readers could also confirm.
That's precisely why I think this song is a good introduction not only for the coming Easter, but an even better introduction for the local council election campaign that really gets going after Easter - I definitely play the song in my hearing aids when I put up posters and that's why no one should I'll be surprised if he sees me prancing around town soon.
