Bigoted

Again and again one hears the complaints that today's youth is stuck on computers and televisions. Everyone is wondering where all this is going if the young girls and boys just hang around in a virtual world?

On the other hand, there are hardly any attractive playgrounds and soccer fields. Our clubs offer willing children hardly any chances, if these children still get time and opportunity for a club life at all, which they have to hang around in more than boring schools or so-called day-care centers for the benefit of their own parents all day long. Even the youth centers, for which generations of young people once fought successfully, are now to be closed in Heilbronn, just so that even more city employees can get the most comfortable desk jobs possible, including the obligatory cuddle and coffee corners in so-called "family centers" - these centers are one and only another job creation measure!

And should our children and young people actually get the chance to use a playground or football field, then some of it will be closed, but there is definitely screaming, romping and other things that keep children and young people busy always and for thousands of years doing so with pleasure forbidden with punishment!

It is now completely unthinkable that children like us older children still kick balls against garage doors, run through the streets and alleys or beautify benches, front gardens and house entrances with their toys.

Worse still, young mothers push prams around and can't take their eyes off their smartphones, they even miss the first babble of their children, because they are meanwhile moving about in their own world via headphones. If you look into such prams, you will more and more often find that the first small children are already handling a phone themselves, probably assuming that this is their own mother or father.

Anyone who witnesses all this must be happy that our young people “only” say goodbye to a virtual world. Because that's still better than starting a drug career because of our bigoted society. I contend that without virtuality, the suicide rate among our youth would be exorbitantly high.

Election campaign

Now the election campaign has also arrived in the municipal council, because the parliamentary groups are now rolling over themselves with adventurous projects and continue to throw our money out of the window with full hands, now even more so. The main thing is that they make headlines with it. How the whole thing can then be financed in the long term is of no concern to these municipal councils - when the elections are over, there are simply a few more ruins, such as e.g. B. the dead BUGA water mist or the half-lived mini fountain in the Neckar. Until then, however, they will roll over themselves with ideas such as drinking fountains and additional water mist.

Incidentally, our councilors have pimped their own salaries and also the faction accounts. Anyone who still talks about volunteering has lost touch with reality for a very long time!

It would have been better if our municipal councils had checked that Heilbronn public toilets and clean streets and squares receives. But that doesn't seem to win them over with their voters. I no longer speak of modern infrastructure and reasonably decent schools.

Rundschreiben

These days there was or is one or the other newsletter from me. The Federal Association of the EUROPA-UNION recently submitted a completely new version of its own circular, and so I was briefly tempted to "modernize" my circular on this as well. But then came the disillusionment when I immediately thought about who would even notice and if so, whether it would be estimated accordingly. And so it will probably remain the same.

Regardless of the layout, the appropriate content must be found and prepared. So this will keep me busy a little longer; I have set myself the deadline of July 1, 2023.

Dancing

Even though I'm actually quite busy, my better half always manages to ask me onto the dance floor. Small breaks that you spend dancing definitely have something exhilarating. Even in slightly warmer weather.

And such little breaks also have their own benefits. So I didn't immediately come up with a few good comments from Hannes Finkbeiner answered, but just wait and see if he continues to add more. And it will certainly be good for the exam tasks if I let a few more days pass before I finish the exam. Thanks to a new old calendar that I'm using again now, I'll meet the external deadline; it's no longer enough for me if I just get bogged down in things like this.

"Some say it is unfair to hold disadvantaged children to rigorous standards. I say it is discrimination to require anything less — the soft bigotry of low expectations.”

George W. Bush, Campaign Speech to the NAACP (2000)
