newspaper reading

I really enjoyed leafing through the Heilbronner Voice twice today, because on the one hand I was able to state that "die Sofie" (February 19.02.2022, 31: XNUMX) is not only very well informed and is already preparing, together with her Guschtav, for the Europe ball which is taking place again this year on Saturday, July 23, 2022.

And on the other hand, Sofie misses her, just like I do Neckar fountain at the Neckarbühne and hopes that those responsible for it will be able to get it up and running at least this year and keep it up and running throughout the summer. It would be nice in any case, and it would also save me from having to point out this grievance again and again.

losses

I have two losses on my list of Heilbronn restaurants book. It has been known for a while that the crown in Biberach, which we not only visited regularly from the DLRG and the EUROPA-UNION. Today I was able to find out that this is also the case Piccolo Mondo in Sontheim, but this time due to age, is closing.

I will miss both restaurants, because there are so many good memories attached to them.

European space travel

The start of the weekend was sweetened by a presentation by Oliver Durst about the "future of European space travel". It was nice that he initially outlined the history of space travel again and also went into the human and animal losses that made our space success possible in the first place.

Also very interesting was the presentation of the latest developments in space technology and — what very few people know — how much we in Heilbronn are involved with them. What was new for me was that not only Lampoldshausen plays a role in our region.

So it's very gratifying that we still have more to offer in Heilbronn than is generally assumed - it's probably the so-called "hidden champions" who will secure our jobs in the future.

M * A * S * H

Current events have made me binge-watch the TV series M*A*S*H once again. Next to "Catch 22" probably the best contemporary representation of the misery of every war. No matter how you look at it and no matter how you like to befriend the respective characters, in the end there are only losers.

The series M*A*S*H is based on the film “MASH” by Robert Altman from 1970 and was first broadcast from 1972 to 1983. It wasn't until a few years later that I could really understand the authenticity of this series, which is probably what made it so successful.

Unfortunately, there are fewer and fewer people who can or want to understand the message of the film and especially that of the series; I'm not even talking about the book or film "Catch 22".

Especially in this day and age, responsible politicians should deign to binge a few episodes of M*A*S*H before they open their big mouths again and send other people to their deaths with even greater fanfare.
