Kirchhöfele

When the Heilbronner Voice writes about my home district, I'm basically very skeptical at first, based on very negative experiences.

Like today, the editors like to use the word focus. And then also quote people who are completely overwhelmed by all the noise and potential violence, if not completely overwhelmed. How happy am I that they can no longer write about me, who was still making a lot of noise with all his friends there. No garage door was safe from us and the cars or passers-by not only had to dodge the balls - ok, at 19.00:XNUMX p.m. it was over for us, because that's when the sandman came.

Actually, we should be happy that our youngsters still dare to leave the house and don't get completely sour in front of the computers and game consoles. And where children and young people romp, it's always a little louder. That's why it should be possible - especially in a big city - for our young people to be allowed to be children until 22.00 p.m.

And as far as rubbish is concerned, you can find it everywhere in Heilbronn nicely and generously distributed, except perhaps on the doorsteps of our higher-paid administrative staff, local councillors, or in a self-proclaimed noble district.

How to solve this actual problem, I have written several times. And instead of "problem areas" in Heilbronn, it would probably be more appropriate to write about the city administration's problems in coping with its very own tasks.

city library

The expansion of our municipal library is long overdue. As a “fan”, even I doubt whether it will lead to these “university” qualities, because you not only need an adequate readership, but also very well qualified staff — and that is well known, probably us too too expensive.

I would be happy if our library attracted as many of our normal fellow citizens as possible, especially the children and schoolchildren from the surrounding districts.

Our city library — despite all the “freaks” of individuals, which can also be understood — must primarily and primarily become part of the city’s basic supply as well as the further education of all fellow citizens. That would have already achieved a great deal.

Lecture

Today I was a guest at the Grafenberg School in Schorndorf. The class around teacher Justine Calf dealt with the European Union and had already formulated concerns for the EU and compiled questions about the EU in the run-up to my presentation.

The surprising thing for me was that all the concerns and questions would have been superfluous if there were already a European federal state. In any case, this generation of students is much more advanced in their thinking and feeling than my own generation could ever be.

So my conclusion of the day is: Europe is growing together, whether some want it or not.

And I'm looking forward to tomorrow, too, because I can go back in there my old elementary school read out.

birthday of the day
