Bread & Games

The entire world has long been and is still in a pandemic, with countless people dying every day from or with the COVID-19 virus.

As was to be expected, this pandemic will also leave a lack of any solidarity between the almost 200 countries worldwide. Those states that are "richer" than the others will understandably first provide their populations with the best possible medicines and will also do everything else so that as few of their inhabitants as possible are harmed.

You can also somehow understand that the populations of the “richer” countries are quickly allowed to travel around the world again, it not only pacifies the “first world” internally, but also ensures that countries that — completely incomprehensibly to me — are getting away from tourism have made dependent will not lose their livelihood entirely.

But what I can understand less is that in a pandemic that is plunging the entire world into death, suffering and grief, you are holding the Olympic Games or a European football championship! Not only does this continue to feed the pandemic and will also demand further and completely unnecessary human sacrifices in the "richer" countries, it is a clear sign that we people in the western world completely lack empathy, solidarity and also any sense of justice — we, who keep babbling about values and like to measure others by them, are nothing but oversatiated primary processorwho at best worship Mammon. Just recognizing this would be a first step towards improvement!

top talk

Yesterday there was a supposed top-level discussion between Joe Biden and Vladimir Putin instead of. Would have been better if Joe Biden equal to Xi Jinping would have hit. Unfortunately, however, Biden is still struggling with the US Republicans, who are blatantly threatening to Donald Trump to throw it back into the running, which continues to weaken Biden's negotiating position and thus also that of the USA.

It can be seen as a positive that Joe Biden Putin still offers a platform and thus at least makes negotiations on bilateral nuclear disarmament possible - and who knows, with the best of intentions, continues to keep a door open to the free world for the Russians.

In addition, will Joe Biden Putin have made it clear that the Russian attacks on NATO and other states will no longer remain unanswered by the USA. And if US Republicans should back their President on this matter, that would be a red line for Putin, which he would not do without backing Xi Jinpings will not exceed.

Now the first thing that matters is that Joe Biden it manages to make the USA a reliable partner again, and the US Republicans finally recommit themselves to the values of the free world. At the latest then it becomes a top-level discussion between Joe Biden and Xi Jinping come, which will have an unequivocal impact on the entire world. Afterwards, Russia and the EU will only be marginal figures - both of them are undoubtedly solely to blame for themselves.

Here you will find a slightly different opinion from a comrade and member of the Bundestag that I value Roderich Kiesewetter, the today in the Heilbronner voice has been published.

devilries

More and more citizens are complaining that there are quite a few anti-democrats in our executive branch, be it the military, the police or the administration.

I would like to point out that this is exactly what our politics did: by creating niches for people with low levels of education, they brought precisely those people into the positions necessary for a society.

It would be correct to ensure that the executive branch has the most intelligent citizens possible who can work flexibly, independently and goal-oriented and, even better, serve. However, a well-functioning executive branch would counteract a party and political apparatus that is now at best mediocre and would then end careers there.

That is why politicians have done everything to ensure that precarious fellow citizens, especially in the administration (increasingly also professional politicians there) and also feel comfortable with the police and military, as they do not have to keep up with technological and social progress as is usual in business and commerce. And as long as they follow the civil service system, they have nothing to fear.

In the meantime, everyone is constantly looking for the lowest possible denominator - and that is simply not democracy, because it requires responsible citizens in order to be able to function sustainably.

Until recently, our powers that be worked with paper and pencil, pushed files — preferably in file folders — around with appropriate file trolleys, still use faxes today as the high point of technology, mostly consider digitization to be superfluous and actually condemn everything that only gives the appearance of progress.

And that is exactly the ideal environment for all those who are afraid of the strange and new or even of developing independent thoughts. And so it happens that police officers, military personnel and administrative employees - overwhelmed by the overall situation - become radicalized or even ordinary radicals can swim along in these institutions.

Education, the performance principle and minimum requirements would be the key to success and the savior of our democracy - but that's exactly what our governments don't want, because then they would have to question themselves first. For us, self-criticism and taking on responsibility are now devilish practices!

Professional politics recently found its own solution approach and at the same time a scapegoat under the title: “Do we need an administrative revolution?” It is the federal administrative structures that are to blame for everything. Anything that is complex but promising is highly suspect to our current fair-weather politicians. Their solution to this is likely to be very simple: a central Berlin administrative state in which the loss of, among other things, the state parliaments is compensated for by a correspondingly enlarged Bundestag. But the best thing about it is that the professional politicians who are no longer elected still get a lucrative position in the central administration.

And anyone who manages to completely fail there will still be transferred to Brussels - should this still be the case by then.

site of the day

Bundestag election 21 | bpb [website no longer available]

I recently got the official website of the federal election 2021 Applied. Today I would like to present the corresponding website of the Federal Agency for Civic Education. This is intended to appeal more to younger fellow citizens, goes into more detail on the relevant basics and tries to remain generally understandable.
