Male friendship

On the example of Donald Trump, Gerhard Schroeder and Vladimir Putin One should be able to recognize that there is no such thing as male friendships in big politics. That would also explain why a once so deserving and tough politician allows himself to be bullied by everyone and especially by a single “friend” without any effort.

We can assume that this is nothing but naked blackmail, which is what else characterizes the Russian nation after murder, looting and rape Vladimir Putin should once again be one of the big ones.

In any case, we - and especially our representatives - should be aware that a trip to the Eastern Bloc is always accompanied by attempts at blackmail, with successful attempts being exploited at the first opportunity. This could also explain the behavior of some politicians from the USA, Europe and Germany, who repeatedly come to completely incomprehensible decisions and resolutions when it comes to things that have something to do with the Russian Federation.

That's why I can only recommend that our representatives seek a confidential conversation with our secret services - but perhaps the problem is already much bigger than we can even imagine Hans-Georg Maassen lets greet.

land tax

Until recently, the Free Voters fought against a further increase in property taxes, but in vain. The only thing that gives us some hope is that the FDP has broken away from the “Heilbronn Unity Party” on this issue. And so Alliance 90/The Greens, CDU and SPD have ensured that we citizens continue to be burdened. This additional annual income of a good 3 million euros is only a drop in the ocean for the half-baked households in Heilbronn, but in the eyes of the Mayor it seems to be a good example of the ability to act.

These 3 million euros are of little use to remedy the problems in, among other things, our schools, the works office buildings, the fire department, the bus depot and other city infrastructure, which now easily amount to several hundred million euros. But what the local council and city administration continue to ignore as much as possible and instead prefer to stick to projects that individual mayors and local councilors can use to decorate themselves. And of course you continue to have an oversized, or at least very top-heavy, administration.

Now I'm curious to see whether the next local council will ensure that the city administration first devotes itself to its actual tasks that are important to all of us, before continuing to focus all of its attention on supposed cosmopolitan projects.

In my opinion, we should start with the schools, move the bus depot, let the fire department follow suit and then finally create a works office worthy of a big city. It would be worth considering whether you should also use your own reserves for this, as more modern infrastructure will guarantee greater savings in the medium to long term - an increase in property tax certainly does not help, but at best exacerbates the current housing situation.

As I learned during a conversation yesterday, it actually often happens that if you delay necessary investments, they can not only put a heavy burden on a city for decades, but can also prevent its further development.

Exploration

Yesterday my better half and I used the day to explore a future venue and to see where the conference participants would be staying overnight. In both cases we were more than positively surprised.

We were also very pleased with the openness and professionalism of all contacts. The highlight, however, was having lunch with an old local friend.

Then I brought myself up to date Europe ball and found that there were only about a dozen places left. Since we even have up to ten seats at some tables, we were able to accommodate a few more ball guests than originally planned. If we now add the musicians, dancers and other supporters, then we can expect well over 300 participants.

We are using our upcoming Strasbourg trip, which is also fully booked, to explore another two-day Strasbourg trip in more detail - this will certainly be another highlight of the year for those interested in culture. And at the same time we are also trying to prepare for the next trip to Florence.

Meanwhile, my sister took the opportunity to visit our youngest in Brussels. She discovered that he was now a better travel guide in Brussels than I ever was.

And at the end of the evening there were registrations for the upcoming Hertenstein talks, which gives me hope that these will be a success again.

A renewed exploration of Hertenstein itself has been planned for a while, and I know one or two people who are eagerly waiting for it. But unfortunately there hasn't been an opportunity yet.

If the last information needed for the summer semester comes in now, then almost the entire year will be planned again - and so I'm already looking forward to whether and how the whole thing will be realized by the end of the year.
