Question

The question that concerns me at the moment is whether 2024 won't be the same as 1984, which we were just able to avoid back then? And even the New York Times now leaves this question alone sound again and again.

And in the Heilbronn Voice there are more and more letters to the editor that can only make you feel bad. Germany's idiots and totalitarians announce in unison that we no longer have freedom of expression, that we are actually already ruled by a left-wing clan and that the supposed majority of the population must take back “their” democracy.

The right-wing and left-wing populist circles even in our democratic parties seamlessly join this totalitarian final battle din. Even top politicians are once again keeping all avenues open, anti-Semitism and hostility to science are once again acceptable - even the Protestant Church is once again marching in step: if real socialism has failed here, then at least we can once again blame the Jews for really everything (Heilbronner Stimme, February 12.2.2024, 26: 75 - “At the same time, she took the view that Israel had made Hamas so strong in order not to have to make peace. 'If Israel had wanted peace, it would be Hamas never came into being," explained the XNUMX-year-old.")

Like it already George Orwell knew that the new world would be characterized by the negation of facts, the constant repetition of lies and an accelerated change in language (newspeak) created. Ok, every now and then you throw one or two atomic bombs on your own population, just to boost general morale.

Class four

As a reading mentor for primary school classes, I am always surprised at who receives a recommendation for one of our high schools. My experience shows that due to the ideological pressure placed on our teachers, they are already being very generous in their recommendations - with the consequences we have long known about. In addition, far too many parents ignore these decisions, no matter which way they were made.

However, those who suffer are not only the affected students, as the media has so beautifully led us to believe, but even more so the teachers affected, the respective school itself and our society as a whole, which is completely out of control. I have been claiming for a long time that these school softeners, starting with the 1968s, who have been undermining the performance principle for decades, are the actual gravediggers of our democracy.

I now even assume that they consciously want to destroy our democracy and do so according to the well-known motto: “Destroy what destroys you.”

Super Bowl

A Sunday conversation reminded me of this year's Super Bowl and also led me to actually Taylor Swift I googled. I then followed the 58th Super Bowl via text messages, which I received until shortly before 5 a.m., when the Kansas City Chiefs finally won in overtime against this year's favorite San Francisco 49ers. I was torn as I know fans of both clubs; I was a Los Angeles Raiders fan in the 1980s to mid-1990s, with the Kansas City Chiefs being my two cousins' favorites.

The highlight of Sunday for me wasn't the Super Bowl, but another conversation that lasted until late in the evening.
