Newspapers & Magazines

Reading behavior is constantly changing. And so does my weblog. That's why I got these lines from a blog page (Reading list) extracted and now inserted as a separate blog post.

It's funny to read about what authors wrote when the first newspapers and later magazines became en vogue among readers - the two words "canned trash" still ring in my ears today.

Even today there won't be very many people who can claim to read at least one book a week. My favorite professor at the university still insisted on three books, although he only accepted those books that could stand upright.

But sooner or later, the digital versions of books, journals and magazines will dominate the market and continue to change reading behavior. I very much hope that these will not be replaced by social media or even Metavers products.

Here you will find the journals and magazines that I personally read regularly on paper or digitally. Since subscriptions are becoming more and more expensive and digital content is increasingly disappearing behind a paywall, my list has thinned out considerably, but that's actually not that bad since I still have unread books piling up and I still have a few Follow weblogs.

Europe active

I read the EUROPA-UNION association magazine because it allows me to see what other district associations are doing.

Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung

Actually only because my better half has gotten used to this newspaper over the decades. I have long been irritated by how bad the research and articles have become, not only in terms of language but also in terms of content. And so I now read this newspaper very selectively.

Heilbronn city newspaper

I'm only reading this because I'm curious about what kind of mess the local council and the city administration are currently making.

Heilbronn voice

For me, subscribing to the Heilbronner Stimme is a local patriotic duty and also somewhat prevents me from having to live in a city that no longer has a single newspaper.

New York Times

For me, this is the most cost-effective way to read a daily newspaper. And now this newspaper has left the FAZ miles behind in terms of both editorial and content.

The Federalist Debate

A magazine that is very close to the European Federalists and gives me a good overview of current and future discussions in our association.

Addendum

Am 24. February 2020 The whole thing still looked as shown there.
