Turning point

Today I just have to gossip! The sole purpose of this is to prevent me from developing stomach ulcers. So, dear reader, just skip this post but in any case please don't take it personally.

The reason for this post was today's swimming attempt in the city pool. As I was taking a shower, a teacher and his students, a truly desolate bunch, also came into the shower. It was pleasing that there were at least noticeably no girls there. The boys' looks were less pleasing when they saw that you can wash yourself without clothes. I, in turn, admired that today people probably mean taking a shower, wearing at least two pairs of swimming trunks, wearing swimming goggles and a swimming cap, and also wearing a life jacket, and hopping into the shower for a moment. The looks from the teacher, who probably briefly considered whether he had to call in the moral police, were even more unpleasant.

The teachers usually take their students into the changing rooms and showers in the teaching pool. There you can teach your students the first steps towards personal hygiene and a European bathing culture completely undisturbed. At least that's how I handled it the last time I tried to teach refugees to swim together with another swimming instructor in 2016: however, we only got so far that the boys and young men learned how to use the toilet facilities and also how to use soap and water washes what we considered a success back then.

After showering, I got an overview of the lanes in the sports pool. As always, everyone was occupied and there were a few people in the lane for “athletic swimmers” who were standing all over the place so that I briefly thought about obstacle swimming, but then Mister Obesity came along, equipped with diving goggles and fins, among other things. and pushed himself into the same path. So again today it was out of the question to do at least a few laps - the supervisors don't care at all, probably because they can't swim themselves.

But that's exactly what our professional politicians understand by a turning point: performance, hard work, order and cleanliness are a thing of the past!

These fellow citizens do not take into account that everything that still works in our country was built by those who adhered exactly to these principles!

Which doesn't mean that there weren't any Smurfs back then, but they preferred to be hidden in the basement. Today they are disposed of in executive suites, management positions or ministries.

Education shouldn't be strenuous, sport is when you pee in the sports pool, and others should take care of cleanliness!

  • This is how dystopias come true. In the more hopeful science fiction we can read how the Krapüle is put to a useful end use in the form of small green plates. Pig eats pig.
