The microblogging service has been around since 2006 Twitterfrom Jack Dorsey, Biz Stone and Evan Williams was founded and is now used by well over 300 million users worldwide every month, whether human or bot, to exchange information. This "social medium" does not have the reach of e.g. B. Facebook with approx. 2,5 billion members, but is a good choice for transporting news quickly due to different user behavior and the fact that messages are still limited to 280 characters.
I also used Twitter from time to time right from the start, but in January 2021 I decided to permanently delete all corresponding accounts and only start over with a single one. This time, however, more as a tool to bring my Internet searches together in one place and then also to record certain results there — as a personal repository, so to speak, for hyperlinks and interesting articles from a wide variety of media.
It's also a great way to promote my own weblog posts. But in order to reach many, I need a lot more “followers” there.
