Municipal council election campaign

Even though I am running my “own” campaign page as chairman of the Free Voters in Heilbronn this time, I don't want to miss out on it and, as I did in 2019, do a little advertising for myself here on the blog as a candidate for the Heilbronn municipal council.

The whole thing started when I was able to make use of my right to stand for election for the first time in 2015 after returning to Heilbronn - unfortunately the 2014 local council election was already history and so I was aiming for the 2019 election at the time. Fortunately, other people from Heilbronn also said that I should give it a try.

Actually, I threw myself into the election campaign with absolutely no chance and if my better half hadn't supported me, it would have been a very lonely election campaign. At least a few candidates and other helpers came together only to display the hoarding banners and a few information stands on Fleiner Street. And so - as is clearly the tradition of the Free Voters, at least in Heilbronn - the election campaign remained with the then chairman Stefan Fiebig and city council Herbert Burkhardt hang; In any case, they were the two that I kept seeing posting posters and handing out brochures.

Despite all my efforts at the time I didn't manage to reach my minimum goal, but all in all I enjoyed the election campaign - memories of my childhood and youth were awakened - and so I decided after the election that I would be available again in 2024.

Unfortunate circumstances then led to me becoming chairman of the Free Voters in 2022 and now being responsible for the entire election campaign. My first goal is to be able to motivate a few more election campaigners than in 2019. And as a candidate, my goal is still to be elected, but in any case I would be very happy if I could at least defend my place on the list this time.

We now have our digital campaign presence online and the majority of posters have been ordered. A few more orders and printing of our brochure, then the street election campaign can begin. Those fellow campaigners for whom information stands and election events are not really the best thing, which I can certainly understand as I only think this is a good thing because I grew up with it, can easily make use of the digital offerings and use them like crazy Share on social media and other channels.

Placing posters and dismantling them after the election will again be the big challenges and so it's a good thing that we're involved Herbert Burkhardt continue to have a hardened campaigner on board. The really exciting thing for me is how many of the candidates will still be available for the necessary work after the election. In particular, it will be the litmus test for me as to whether I am still able to do this and find enough colleagues until the final round Staying on board at the end of the election campaign — for “my” students, this can serve as a good example of “project completion.”

And like in 2019, the date for my election campaign party has already been set, regardless of whether I win or lose, because no matter how the election turns out for us free voters or for me, it will be the conclusion of another project, and ultimately - in In this very special case, for once I'm adopting the view of an agile project manager - what counts is that I was there and had fun.
