Unfortunately, not even the local press came up with a report about it Europe ball felt compelled, I wrote a report myself and published it on the website EUROPE UNION website published. I still have this one on my voice in the hope that the Stimme editorial team will at least bite. In order to give the European ball a little more reach, I am now posting this report here. If you would like to see more pictures of the ball, you can find them on the EUROPA-UNION website.
This European ball was something very special, and the guests unanimously agreed on that at the end. And the response to the European Ball also exceeded all expectations. The EUROPA-UNION Heilbronn had prepared the Theodor Heuss Hall for up to 300 guests Bettina and Heinrich Kuemmerle, the organizers of the ball, placed particular emphasis on a spacious dance floor. All participants were then surprised that, in addition to the 300 ball guests, there were more than 100 visitors in the gallery following the supporting program and taking advantage of the offers from our parties and partner associations in the Foyer of Harmony, so that the European Ball with artists, organizational and supporting staff, and ball guests and visitors recorded well over 500 registered participants.
The motto of the ball was “Culture meets Politics” and so all visitors could not only find information about the groups performing in the foyer and exchange ideas with them in a relaxed atmosphere, but also find out more about the culture of Bosnia-Herzegovina at the Mladost Bosne stand information or purchase jewelry and art at the stand of the German-African Association. So that the whole thing didn't end up being too dry, Voltino's bar provided the appropriate drinks throughout the evening.
In addition to the State Center for Civic Education, the EUROPA-UNION and the JEF Heilbronn, the political part of “Culture meets Politics” was taken over by the parties and voter groups from Alliance 90/The Greens, CDU, FDP, Free Voters, Party of Humanists, SPD and Volt . And so the ball guests and visitors were not only able to find out about Europe, the upcoming elections to the European Parliament and the democratic party landscape, but also had an informal conversation with their own representatives. There were also two European quizzes, one of which offered a four-day trip to Berlin as the main prize.
On the part of the European Parliament, its former vice president and state chairwoman of the EUROPA-UNION was Baden-Württemberg Evelyne Gebhardt present, came from the German Bundestag Chantal head, from the Baden-Württemberg state parliament Gudula Achterberg, Nico Weinman and Klaus Ranger. The Heilbronn district chairman of the European Union was very pleased Heinrich Kümmerle, that twelve local councilors came to the European Ball: Eva Luderer, Marianne Kugler-Wendt, Dr. Anne Christ-Friedrich, Tanja Sagasser-Beil, Sylvia Dorr, Isabell Dörr-Nill, Thomas Randecker, Dr. Albrecht notices, Uwe Mettendorf, Rainer Hinderer, Herbert Tabler and Herbert Burkhardt.
As a souvenir of the Europa Ball 2024, the visitors each received a blue ribbon and a professional couple photo from the owner of theazione photo studio Wet Sarout. The Voltino team, led by, took care of your physical well-being Lisa Slunitschek.
The clear highlight of the evening, however, was the Europa Ball itself, which exceeded all of the dance couples' expectations. And so they swung at the end Kerstin and Klaus Brenner from the Brenner dance school. Andrew Cranen impressed all ball visitors with his dance band Happyness Voice right from the start. Next to Andrew Cranen played and sang Bianca Schneider, Michael Lehr, Michael Schindler, Ralph Gundel and Achim Derzenbach. And to round things off, the band played the European anthem.
After a short introduction by Heinrich Kuemmerle, who also moderated the evening, the Europa Ball was similar to the Opera Ball in Vienna with a ballet group from the Münch / Haal Ballet School under the direction of Christina Haal opened and immediately afterwards came a waltz formation from the Brenner dance school, which was followed by a Disofox and a Latin formation. Then it was all waltz!
Every hour on the hour there were further dance performances by Mladost Bosne under the direction of Semin Bristina, Art 07 under the direction of Marion Amann, Grupo Raza led by Nadine Swiebocki-Lopez, Azahar Flamenco Gitano conducted by Sonia Jiminez and the Münch / Haal ballet school.
Last but not least, it was the dancing couples themselves who made the Europa Ball an exhilarating celebration. Bandleader Andrew Cranen agreed with the moderator of the evening that the view of the many dancing couples was a more than wonderful affair.
The Europa Ball will take place again on Saturday, May 10, 2025 in Harmonie. Two questions still remain unanswered: what color the wristband will be when you enter and will it be Bianca Schneider this time manage to seduce the presenter into a duet?
They Shoot Horses, Don't They? 😉
Everything you associate with a dance ball! If you don't stick with it, you won't win. But regardless, Sydney pollacks 1969 film is a true classic. 🙂
However, has Quentin Tarantino the topic was taken up again in 1994. At least they won the competition. 😉
My second thought was Roman Polanski, but that would still be a while away. In Europe, after all.
No, please not Dance of the Vampires?!
