And here you will also find a few suggestions and tips for the coming days.

"What I don't like about office Christmas parties is looking for a job the next day."

Phyllis Diller

"Christmas is doing a little something extra for someone."

Charles M. Schulz

"It's Christmas Eve! It's the one night of the year when we all act a little nicer, we smile a little easier, we cheer a little more. For a couple of hours out of the whole year, we are the people that we always hoped we would be."

Bill Murray as Francis Xavier "Frank" Cross in Scrooged (1988)

"Happy, happy Christmas, that can win us back to the delusions of our childish days; that can be recalled to the old man the pleasures of his youth; that can transport the sailor and the traveler, thousands of miles away, back to his own fire-side and his quiet home!"

Charles Dickens, The Pickwick Papers (1836)

"Give us the knowledge that we may continue to pray with understanding hearts. And show us what each one of us can do to set forward the coming of the day of universal peace.”

Frank Borman, Prayer from Apollo 8, December 25, 1968

And here you will find an anonymous tip from the World Wide Web that I first shared on a website in Advent 2010:

Xmas Planning

So kids, I'm on vacation now. In all likelihood I'll be back by Christmas, but of course the preparations for that should start now.

Status:
As Christmas showed on the Internet last year, Christmas is no longer called Christmas, but X-mas, so Santa Claus must be called X-man from now on!

Since X-mas is practically just around the corner, it has been high time since October at the latest to start preparing for Christmas. Sorry, since October it's high time to start the Christmas roll-out and the Christmas mailing campaign just in time prepare.

Note:
The kick-off event (formerly the 1st Advent) for this year's SANCROS (Santa Claus Road Show) took place on November 27th. Hence became the official come together of the Organizing Committee chaired by the CIO (Christmas Illumination Officer).

For the first time, we preceded a project status meeting, in which a to-do list developed in workshops and uniform job descriptions were created. This should create clear areas of responsibility, a powerful performance of the customer event and optimized gift allocations, which in turn increases the service level and also helps to make X-mas as brand name implement globally.

This meeting also served to coordinate the process organization with the co-head of the Global Christmas Market (formerly Knecht Ruprecht), to ensure gift distribution to the responsible private gift centers and to clearly define the target groups.

So-called gift units are also to be offered over the Internet for the first time. The service providers (angels, elves and reindeer) were already via conference call virtually informed and the core competence forgive.

A bunch of incentives and a separate team building event at a more convenient time location should increase the motivation level and at the same time help to create a uniform corporate culture and identity to develop. The proposal to each angel one coach to put aside was initially canceled for budget reasons.

Instead, it was decided at an additional Client Management Conference, in one test market as a pilot project hotline set up for short-term Christmas wishes to the added value increase for the recipients. A sophisticated Management Information System (MIST) also enables benchmark-oriented controlling for every private gift center.

After a new literature concept and the layout format were defined by external consultants (Osterhasen Associates), this year's Golden Book (Golden Book Release V2.22.113.1) could already be created. It appears as a flyer, supplemented by a leaflet and a newsletter for the current one updating

high-volume low-cost giveaways also serve as teaser and accompanying marketing measures. Furthermore, through intensive brainstorming reached a consensus on the mission statement.

It is said: "Let's keep the candles burning" and replaces the previous one "Merry Christmas".

Although X-man initially had reservations about the corporate redesigns. Ultimately, however, he accepted the progressive consulting approach, also with regard to shareholder value, and acknowledged the know-how of his investor relations managers.

In this sense: Happy Advent

"I like you too much not to say it. You've got everything except one thing - madness. A man needs a little madness, or else he never dares cut the rope and be free."

Anthony Quinn as Alexis Zorba in Zorba the Greek (1964)
