Today we're taking another trip to the lowlands Social Media undertaken - I really don't know what happened to me. I probably just wanted to avoid a few unpleasant tasks that I really had to do today.

It started with a person complaining on my social media timeline that they were still searching for RAF terrorists, but were not directing the resources to counter the increasing attacks by right-wing extremists. The fact is that - after more than forty years (!) - RAF terrorists are still allowed to roam freely in our country, so the search effort in question is limited; which became evident again in the NSU murders, which became known through Inspector Chance.

As expected, I triggered a small tsunami that didn't trigger a Twitter wave, but confirmed once again that social media isn't really all that great. Apparently some people are just waiting to be “triggered” and then fire off one post after another in a didactic and insulting manner.

Obviously, as in ancient Rome, there are still people here who need a Colosseum in order to be able to forget their own sad existence, at least for a few moments.

That's the really ugly thing about social media. But at some point these people will have to leave the Colosseum again and face normal life. The question that comes to mind is what do you do with it? I'll probably never know.

Addendum

While I spent the evening dancing quite comfortably, the SM rabble went wild a bit more, which is what you do when you're supposedly anonymous on the Internet. In addition to very unimaginative insults and a few threats, one such contemporary came to the conclusion that I, as a free voter, was a right-wing populist. At least he made the effort and googled a little. It would have been nice if he had been a little better informed - since today the Free Voters Party (different construction site) made some very unpleasant headlines.

And so my conclusion for today is that you don't have to be a supporter of the horseshoe theory to come to the conclusion that, regardless of whether they are right-wing or left-wing extremists, these fellow citizens are simply the worst thing.
