My decision is made, instead of following the current comedy about the CDU chairmanship, I have decided to watch the four seasons of ALF and hope that after that it will be clear who CDU chairman and what became of ALF.

From 1986 to 1990, i.e. still in the pre-Merkel era, NBC broadcast 102 episodes of ALF in four seasons. I was initially able to watch the first episodes on ZDF, but then there was not enough time for such conversations, even though each episode barely lasts 25 minutes.

ALF is the alpha animal of the series and also neither recognizes rivals, nor does he ensure an adequate replacement for his role as a foreign body in an average family.

I liked ALF right from the start because not only do we have a similar relationship with cats, but we are also similarly successful in our efforts to save the world.

It also brought back good memories of "My Uncle from Mars" from 1963 to 1966 and "Mork vom Ork" from 1978 to 1982, which I had seen as a schoolboy and who, amazingly, also knew their counterparts in day-to-day politics.

If you don't know ALF, you shouldn't be dazzled by his cuddly toy appearance, because he has more intelligence than his entire environment, a hardly any other assertiveness and the necessary amount of normal madness, which ultimately makes him a human.

"Putting humans into charge of the earth, is the cosmic equivalence of letting Eddie Murphy direct."

And even then, if you manage four seasons, you automatically belong to the inventory. It's just stupid that hardly anyone knows anymore what became of it in the end and what purpose it served: the cat fright went wrong, as is well known, and mice dancing on the tables only exist in real life.
