instruction

Today I was informed in writing that “the press” does not exist and that they would have been happy to come if there had been a suitable invitation.

The background to the instruction is the following sentence that I published on the Free Voters website:

“The only regret was that neither a press representative nor representatives of the other local council factions were present.”

Freie Wähler, September 6th

The Free Voters event in question was probably the most advertised in the history of our association; In any case, the response from the people of Heilbronn was immense.

Now I don't know how we could have made it even better?

Infrastructure

The protagonists who continue to drive Heilbronn's infrastructure against the wall like to meet in a traditional and public manner at the opening of the wine village - they know their common priorities.

And so it is not surprising that, especially in the wake of the Weindorf opening, we can read in the Heilbronner Stimme that the lock expansion will not happen (Heilbronner Stimme, September 8.9.2023, 6: XNUMX), just as the Frankenbahn is still not ready, at least to repair the last war damage. Now I'm very excited to see what bad news will be passed on to us over the next ten days.

But none of this will matter to us until the end of the wine village, as long as the quarter is available from 2 euros to 50 cents. And if we're completely honest with ourselves, we've never really wanted the big city thing: Germany's coziest wine village and that's enough all year round.

wine village

From the very beginning I was able to experience the wine village - the fifth Heilbronn season - up close and therefore have my own personal opinion about it. But the fact is that it is probably one of the oldest wine villages (since 1971) in Baden-Württemberg and now attracts a good 200 visitors over eleven days.

Yesterday was the beginning of the 51st wine village. I was able to marvel at the patience with which visitors from the suburbs and rural communities tour the city in their cars just to avoid having to drive into a parking garage. And right from the start, our Wengerters complained not only on SWR during prime time about the double burden that they had to take on with the wine village.

As a good citizen, I have now decided to at least relieve our Wengerter a little bit of the burden by not going to the wine village at all.

Addendum

Now it's taking its toll once again that Heilbronn has little to no public toilets has. I'm really looking forward to removing the feces from the house entrances or even the stairwells again in the coming days.

The Heilbronn Voice currently writes: “Man urinates in parking garage and attacks security."

  • The “Heilbronn Wine Village” is now a major event and has probably broken away from its origins. Consequently, you can now ignore the “Wine Village in Heilbronn” as Heilbronn. With the new setup, the wise, forward-looking organizer would also have the opportunity to realign the beverage supply and further relieve the burden on Wengerter.
The traditional festival offers new impulses for the up-and-coming city, and perhaps also ideas for other event planners.
