RSS

This post is owed to the RSS readers who, if subscribed, pick up my posts in their original version and forward them to my readers. Thanks to the intervention of Detlef Stern All post content is now passed on to the readers and not just the respective heading. His argument that some readers only want the bare contents convinced me. I also read most texts via RSS, as this can be done there without any distractions and is also much faster.

Some bloggers complain that too few readers come to their respective blogs, which is also a good argument. But as long as you don't want to monetize your blog, it's probably more about the number of readers you reach and not the number of page views. Due to the change, my access numbers have also decreased, which could confirm that some readers do access my posts via RSS.

Which now makes me think again about whether I could then further streamline the CMS or even switch entirely to the Zettelkasten. But then I have to think again about the tried and tested advice “never change a running system” and also about the fact that I’m not the only one who still likes my existing blog layout.

And as I learned in conversations over the weekend, for many people (good) images are more important than content; I have already noticed this several times in the blog as soon as I left out the lead images, because then the number of hits dropped noticeably.

Now I need a lead image that is as appropriate as possible and then this post could be activated - with the advantage that all of today's posts are already available and no reader has to check later to see if I haven't added something else. But who knows, the day is still young and I have a lot to do today.

Start of the week

The start of the week was a bit more successful, it started with a dance at the Brenner dance school, and this after we had thrown a few flyers about the European Ball into the mailboxes of the parties and other dance schools.

Monday morning began with the usual drive through the northern part of the county, this time with an intern on board. He was the same age as the students I was looking after and the inevitable comparison was like a revelation: not only are far too many parents failing catastrophically, but especially our social and educational system, because its propagated egalitarianism divides our society even more into winners and Failure - only its supporters benefit from this system, because they manage to raise their own children into the best positions without any achievement; which, by the way, is neither Christian nor social!

There are also signs of a change in focus in my own projects. The preparations for the Europa Ball are almost complete, those for the local council elections are due by the end of the week and the planning phases for the two other projects are now in full swing.

One could also speak of milestones, which I will soon explain to some listeners in more detail. The good thing for me is that students are some of the better listeners these days because they want to at least pass the exam and some even learn something for life in the process.

Which in turn reminds me of my own research focus, which has accompanied me like a common thread since I began my studies: “Learning en passant”, a probably more contemporary version of the Nuremberg funnel and please not to be confused with the supposed black pedagogy.

Weekend Trip

The weekend was mixed with good and sobering conversations. It is interesting to observe how younger citizens in particular use postcards primarily to spice up their own CVs. It is also very sobering to realize that when these fellow citizens completely fail in their job and almost ruin an association, this is no obstacle at all for your own party to open the door to these failures - soon one of them will be there too a parliament and can then let off steam there, bully employees and lie and deceive citizens at every turn.

The parties - there are currently two in my area - don't seem to care at all - the main thing is that their candidates have nice hair. And these parties seem to be right, because as I was able to find out in further conversations, citizens choose their representatives primarily based on their appearance and predetermined - sometimes faked - CV. On the other hand, hardly any voter is interested in beliefs, content or services provided; unless the candidate just pretends to have exactly the same beliefs as the voter.

That's why professional politicians manage to have and represent both opposing opinions in the hall at the same event within less than five minutes. This doesn't bother the citizen because "his" politician has exactly the same opinion and completely ignores the fact that this politician also shares exactly the opinion of the gentleman next door, whose opinion the citizen in question can never, ever accept! A few years ago I was able to experience such a discussion event myself in the Ratskeller, where everyone present was extremely enthusiastic - I should have founded a Super-GroKo that evening!

This Sunday I went to Stuttgart specifically to be able to explain a matter in more detail as a speaker in front of an illustrious circle - they wanted to officially get an expert opinion. So beautiful, so good. Nobody was interested except me; they only needed the appearance, but not the content. Since the whole thing took place in a place where you judge the quality of the food by the overhang of the plate, I can chalk this up as a complete failure.

If we actually want to change something in Germany, then we all have to first change something here: listen more closely, read more, question, follow up and not always just choose the most convenient path - even if it's just for the heck of it was on the way!
