Thanatos

The joy of going under is being celebrated more and more frequently in Germany. A good sign of this is the support for really everything that questions our democracy and our economic system or at least turns it upside down.

Everything that breaks our "pig system" has become a cult, its first representatives have long since won the highest government offices and you can still find them at all levels of our politics and administration - if such a person is asked about it, he pleads for youthful sins and goes unpunished even with Molotov cocktail attacks or the public worship of enemies of the state, anti-democratic organizations and parties. Quoting Hitler's "Mein Kampf" or even carrying the book with you like a bible are now only small trivial offenses in politics. Even a Putin can continue to be celebrated with impunity as an honorable politician and swear allegiance to him until death.

And if a politician is caught threatening to kill other fellow citizens and representatives of the people, or smearing swastikas on the private property of fellow citizens, then it is enough for him to announce that he is leaving his party and the world is completely fine again for us. What is striking here is that such traitors of the people are mostly and increasingly frequently in the parties on the left and right fringes — in the case of such incidents, as a citizen, you don't even have to wait until this assumption is confirmed, because we already know it in advance.

We all know very well that these extreme parties on the right and left are our downfall. Nevertheless, they are celebrated by us, quietly and secretly and receive more votes than before in every election. Far too many are doing it again and nobody wants to be!

Sigmund Freud called this the Thanatos drive system, the goal of which is to lead the living to death - the sheer lust for destruction! And this lust for death probably affects all societies that are doing far too well. We should hang the bread baskets higher again before the next war does this for all of us all by itself.

Gastronomy

Today we can read in the Heilbronner Voice (August 31.8.2023, 21: 2,98) that there are three gastronomic establishments (1) per 000 inhabitants in Heilbronn, which would be around 400 restaurants in the city district alone. And if that's not enough, you can go to Ilsfeld (3,11), Bad Wimpfen (3,29) or even Beilstein (4,03), where the density of pubs is even higher.

“A special evaluation by the State Statistical Office for the Hotel and Restaurant Association (Dehoga) shows that the number of restaurants in the municipalities in the southwest is declining significantly.”

Voice of Heilbronn (31.8.2023: 21)

If you assume that each business is open for around 50 hours a week, that works out to a good 6 hours a week for every person in Heilbronn where we could all sit in a restaurant. And since there are several places available in each company, the number of hours increases to around 50 seats per citizen, easily up to 60 hours per week - Thomas Aurich but will be able to quantify this much more precisely and will certainly point it out to me if I am completely wrong with my calculation.

And if you now assume that we no longer spend as much time in restaurants as we did in the 1960s, then you can certainly understand why the number of restaurants continues to decline.

What bothers me a bit about the voice report is the complaint about too few restaurants in individual villages around Heilbronn. This is probably based on the understanding that the state has to ensure that every citizen has a pub available at any time and in any place they want.

We should at least leave the economies to the economy and will find that catering establishments are created and will exist in precisely those places where the citizens also visit them. And if there are too many of them, the market decides who stays and who doesn't.

In the event that we want to get that regulated by the state, we will get exactly such pubs in the future.

asterisk

My readers have certainly noticed it already and some are using the new old “feature” again. A rating system has recently been added to the blog posts, whereby each reader can rate the respective post with up to five stars.

This time I'm using the Rate my Post - WP Rating System and this in a very slimmed down version, because I only evaluate the ratings to the extent that this plugin displays the average rating and the number of ratings submitted above the blog post.

This is intended to give me some kind of additional reader feedback and also make new readers curious about one or another blog post.

If you rate a blog post with less than three stars, the system will also ask you to leave an anonymous reason - but nobody has done so yet.

Now I'm once again excited to see if and how this new gimmick will be used?

  • The error in the system appears in every generation with a new face. A time delay is also to be considered; After all, today's villains were not shaped by the present, but by the zeitgeist of the past decades. All in all, today's young generations give reason for hope - at least in my opinion.
