MIU system

As soon as I get involved with MIU, the city gives me a practical example. Both vending machines are broken, with the one on the left pointing to the one on the right and vice versa.

Machine defective - use the left or right machine.

Anyone who has now chosen the solution of using the two machines that are barely 50 meters away faces the same problem. And the solution offered by a somewhat older but very nice lady, simply to come back an hour later, was not crowned with success.

But since I am writing these lines here, there must have been a solution. This came from a friendly municipal employee who simply opened the barriers.

And this municipal employee was not the only pleasant encounter of the day, but shortly before that I was able to meet two employees of the municipal baths who simply cleared up a problem that might arise for me in the future — thinking employees, a benefit for every company!

Which brings me back to the point. Why shouldn't machines also be able to think outside of the system?

Now I've been a lecturer again for a few months, this time at a university. It was a new experience for me and since the professor who supervises me is one of my favorite people to talk to, it was also a very pleasant one.

For me, the students took a lot of getting used to, although they must be regarded as victims of a misguided educational system. And so I no longer expected that I would be understood at all and resigned myself to getting at least most of the students through the given exam — which is already a slightly greater challenge for many, especially the students themselves, these days .

And so I was positively surprised yesterday when the first student had obviously realized that lessons don't have to be viewed one-dimensionally, but should be recognized in their entire complexity - provided that these lessons themselves offer the prerequisites for this. My surprise was also shared by another professional who commented: "Seems to be the statistical outlier in your course."

Rundschreiben

I was able to use last weekend to send out my monthly newsletters a little earlier than usual; May casts its shadow ahead. For two years now I have had a little more time around the first of May, since the EUROPA-UNION does not have to organize or host the Europe Meeting Point. Nevertheless, there are still very interesting and exciting events that need to be advertised, such as B. the May Day Celebration of the Free Voters.

And so I am pleased that there were again some positive things to notice and to evaluate. I am particularly pleased about the feedback I have already received. And here the circulars seem to be outperforming the various social media channels again, which is one reason why I recently reduced the latter again. Also Detlef Stern has in his recent blog post with the topic “Twitter and/or Fediverse or“ similar considerations but still distanced themselves from it in order to completely separate from superfluous channels.
