22 percent

Der aktuelle Education report of the Heilbronn school, culture and sports office confirms what I've been complaining about for years. Education is completely neglected in Heilbronn, our schools - at least those for ordinary people - continue to deteriorate, the teachers are hardly or not supported at all and laziness is raised to the party program (SPD: "Education must not strain").

The laziness and stupidity of far too many students and the complete incompetence of the parents concerned was negated by those responsible for as long as possible and those who objected to it were demonized.

As of today, it's official: "21,9 percent of Heilbronn's students don't have a degree. There are deficits in the subjects math and German, but not only there.” (Heilbronner Voice, August 25.8.2023, 30: XNUMX)

But those responsible already have a solution ready. We are enlarging our parliaments and municipal councils. And if you don't get a job there, you get a place in the city administration. That's probably why it was only recently Ricardo Lang in Heilbronn.

Beautiful new world!

Addendum 31.8.2023
The Heilbronner Voice writes on August 28.8.2023th, 21,9: "In our article on the education report of the city of Heilbronn, there was talk of a school dropout rate of XNUMX percent. This quota relates exclusively to vocational schools.”

It is not mentioned that 6,2% of the secondary school students do not even manage to get a secondary school certificate. And that's what students get from us if they come to school from time to time and don't hit any teachers.

gourmet

It's the real connoisseurs who inspire me again and again. Decades ago, I admired how taste experts philosophized about my favorite whiskeys while puffing on cigars in the smokiest pubs and really read out every nuance of taste.

In the meantime, our society has gone a few steps further, so that even the biggest Maggi and Knorr Flaschen enthusiasts, who used to spice up every meal even before it was actually on the table, no longer have to do this. Even ordinary table water can no longer avoid containing at least traces of salt and sugar.

Although this shouldn't come as a surprise when you consider that we will soon have to feed more than ten billion people and many of them are several people due to their own volume. Without chemicals and waste recycling, we will soon no longer be able to feed ourselves; we should be very happy that we belong to the omnivores.

And so I'm also very happy that there are still real connoisseurs, because they will continue to make everything tasty for us in the future.

Social Media

Recently has become Detlef Stern more or less of Twitter separately, which I thought was impossible. This has done even more to Twitter for me, because there is hardly any good conversation there anymore. And so I am also slowly but surely phasing out my last account there; This, however, without getting another account with the competition.

There is no question that the so-called social media have not fulfilled their originally desired purpose of better communication with each other, they have rather become advertising slingshots and created very fruitful niches for precisely those people who are too stupid to set up and maintain their own communication channels.

I believed in the success of social media very early on and when my own start-ups of this kind didn't exist, the successful tools were still very popular. However, I had my doubts from the start, as these successful social media brought several things with them, namely advertising, the sale or even the misuse of user data and a supposed anonymity that brought out the evil in many people.

But the worst thing about it is that there are groups of people that have a home and a platform that shouldn't exchange ideas with each other. Without social media there would be none Donald Trump and none Markus Söder, not to mention the countless self-appointed hate speech and mobsters. These produce themselves very successfully in a media world of illusion and some of them then make the leap into hard reality, where they cause unspeakable damage.

We humans are simply not yet ready for social media, similar to the further digitization of our society. Since this is not entirely without risk for all of us, just look at the drama surrounding Trump, it would be necessary, as before with the introduction of the automobile, to introduce a media driver's license. Even at the risk that many will identify themselves as mere idiots and remain excluded from using social media — unfortunately, however, the populists will call this a betrayal of equal rights and the criminals will sell digital driver's licenses with or without a fake test.

I have now decided to ban the links to social media from my weblog. If you still want to share my posts there, you are welcome to do so - but you need a little expertise to do so.

Maybe I'll try again to embed my blog in the Fediverse, which is not quite as easy, but a much better way to encourage human communication. If the Fedivers were to prevail, we would no longer need a driver's license, because either you can swim or you can't.
