Game nights

Play has been increasing again since Friday. Most of the games should be familiar to my readers by now - we won't get bored of them either. My better half is currently taking a closer look at a new game. Meanwhile, the rest of the family had decided to binge old movies.

So we went for a walk today feeling slightly sleepy. And I almost forgot about yesterday's Christmas Vespers with the Dean Christoph Baisch worth mentioning in Kilianskirche. Full house and entertaining program.

Walk

This time I went on my old running and dog route and I wasn't disappointed because I was able to take the photo above almost at the end. One of the few European flags that you can find in Heilbronn. And Heilbronn in particular benefits enormously from the European Union - there is no future project in our city, whether IPAI, university, college or Neckarbogen, that does not contain any EU funding!

To the chagrin of many people in Heilbronn, this is deliberately kept secret by the city leaders and the local council. Rule number one and two: you don't talk about European funding - people are and remain united in their German nationalist spirit and will later be surprised when the AfD becomes the strongest faction in the local council again after 1945.

Nights in White Satin

At the end of the year, a song by The Moody Blues from 1967; The video shown here was also recorded in Paris in 1967. The “Moodies” were founded in 1964, released eight albums by 1972, took a break from 1973 to 1978, created another seven albums by 1999 and finally disbanded in 2021.

Nights in White Satin, whereby Justin Hayward wrote and sang the song, comes from her second record “Days of Future Passed”, the record title of which fits the turn of the year quite well.

Interestingly, Nights in White Satin, which was also available as a single, only became a success in 1972. The song has now been covered several times, but no one has done it as well as Bettye LaVette.

Actually, this would be a pretty good challenge for Sebastian Schaffer - what do you think about that?
