Red lantern

If we Heilbronn don't have any first places in some insignificant rankings “buy” them so much announced by the Heilbronn voice More and more often we just get a red lantern attached.

In the Local public transport in Baden-Württemberg Our Neckar Valley achieved 32nd and last place in the country, behind the Schwarzwaldbahn. You have to do that first!

But as we all know, this is not a problem since we are a car city - at least as long as Audi is still in Neckarsulm. Our politicians have long since gone one step further and, after the train, have now banned cars from Heilbronn in order to pay homage to bicycles alone.

We are now getting the Lerchenberg tunnel for 1,7 million euros - as I suspected, well over 2 million euros - and are sacrificing our public schools for it. It's just a shame that the local council continues to put self-interest and the interests of individuals ahead of the common good!

Again, I have nothing against him Lerchenberg tunnel — except that I would have liked to see it as a railway line — but we people in Heilbronn have other problems than financing a hobby horse for a few city council seniors that they won't use anyway.

Addendum

Detlef Stern immediately pointed out to me that the Heilbronn-Nord light rail is currently in sixth place in the ranking and Hohenlohe-Franken-Untermain is in 11th place. Unfortunately, I hardly use these routes at all.

county assembly

The 70th district meeting of the EUROPA-UNION was a thoroughly enjoyable event for me. Not because I was re-elected as chairman by the members, but because more members came to the meeting than expected and they also took an active part. As a result, we will be able to submit our proposal “Strengthening Europe locally!” to the state assembly in the spring.

I was particularly pleased that Thomas Randecker took over the election management and also took part in the discussion in a very well-founded manner. Nevertheless, many participants are convinced that both the local council and the city administration could ensure more transparency in the use of European funding in Heilbronn.

An short research on the internet showed that the EU z. For example, the WTZ Heilbronn was funded with 7 million euros from the regional development fund and in the Neckarbogen, for example. B. subsidized the “Skaio” building with 500 euros. According to European guidelines, appropriate information must be posted there. I now assume that this is not happening because nationalist populists who are similar to those in the local council and the city administration appear to be in charge Viktor Orban like to decorate with other people's feathers.

“All recipients of EU funds are generally obliged to point out EU funding and ensure its visibility. Depending on the program, they will typically be asked to outline their plans in this regard.”

Commission

Station

A few politicians are once again happy that an ICE will soon be stopping in Heilbronn on an interim basis. They should better ask themselves why the platforms at Heilbronn main station are too short and whether enough Heilbronners will actually use an ICE train.

But even if the platforms were extended again and enough people used the ICE, the problems would only really begin. Because neither our train station nor the surrounding infrastructure are designed for such crowds - here too, the infrastructure has been dismantled in recent years and celebrated for it.

But even if all of this were to be reversed - 100 million euros is nothing! — there is still no connection between Heilbronn and the rest of the world.

It would probably be better if you first convince the federal and state governments to reconnect Heilbronn to the European route network and then start thinking about a functional main station and its connection to the city. You can probably then reorganize the entire station district - something that responsible representatives of the people should have done long ago!
