Youth houses
Once demanded by the JEF and later adopted by other youth organizations, youth houses were also created again and again in Heilbronn. To this day I cannot see a corresponding concept from the city administration for the entire city. I now even believe that the city administration's commitment to youth centers depends on whether and to what extent there are state funding programs.
In the meantime, however, the mayor and “his unified party” have discovered the so-called neighborhood centers for themselves - because there are good funding programs to be had - and have created some really nice little posts there. The big disadvantage is that the last youth centers should officially be liquidated in favor of these neighborhood centers.
Not only did many young people and social workers speak out against this, but the Free Voters also took action.
That's why it's now very gratifying that the SPD, Greens, FDP and CDU suddenly want to campaign for the preservation of the last youth centers in the Heilbronner Stimme (October 24.10.2023, 26: XNUMX). After all these years of complete inactivity, the SPD is even calling for a concept. And the city administration has also signaled that it is now comfortable with the idea - not without pointing out that everything is of course completely fine in Heilbronn; loud Nicole Bauder-Ade Thanks to mobile work, the Office for Family, Youth and Seniors in Heilbronn has youth work across the board. But perhaps a few local councilors discovered their heart for young people just before the start of the election campaign. We should seize this opportunity and demand a sustainable concept for youth houses that creates youth houses both in the city districts and in the inner city districts, which are also linked to the neighborhood centers, schools and other social institutions, such as. And this development can be observed worldwide; it is not just a German effort. It is telling how our own anti-democratic representatives like to be depicted with all autocrats, whether Orban, Putin or Abbas.
