Third list

After my Free voters and the CDU The FDP has now published its list of candidates for the 2024 local council election. Nico Weinman tops the list again, but it only gets really exciting from number 13 onwards.

Without any ifs and buts, I consider this list to be the bravest to date and I don't believe that this list will be surpassed in this election campaign. However, I cannot say whether this courage was born out of conviction or out of necessity.

Regardless, kudos to the FDP!

house purchase

Today's information (Heilbronner Stimme, November 23.11.2023, 27: XNUMX) is pleasing that the city has acquired a very prominent building on Kiliansplatz. The building still has a lot of potential and could certainly house a public toilet facility - not a dingy one, but one in the style of motorway service stations or larger cities, which are very spacious and clean.

This toilet facility could be kept open and operated from 6 a.m. until an hour after the bar closes. Of course, all users pay their contribution, because we have known for a good 2 years that “Pecunia non olet”. In addition, Heilbronn's restaurants and shops could refund the corresponding receipts.

saying

The fact that money spoils character is a common knowledge that was scientifically examined and proven years ago. I would like to refer you to a corresponding article in the Frankfurter Rundschau “Researchers prove: Money spoils character“ from January 21, 2019.

But how should you deal with this knowledge? You can only change the world very little yourself and certainly not save it - even the greatest optimist will have to recognize this in his life.

And so you can only try to turn at least the smallest screws as soon as you get the opportunity.

My experience also shows that money and character are actually connected and that at least weak characters are definitely corrupted by money. That's why you should keep the money factor as low as possible, especially in positions where honest and least selfish decisions are important - that was, among other things, the reason for civil service and volunteer work. Although the officials' coats were warm, they were always very tight and the voluntary work was carried out without any monetary donations.

Today, civil servants are among the top earners and volunteer work is often enough to avoid having to do any more work! — I think this is a completely wrong development. But I won't be able to adjust the salaries, diets or any other little things.

But what I can do, in the event that the people of Heilbronn elect me to the local council, is to demand the following: a transparent list that every citizen can understand of all the money that the local councilors receive in their voluntary work (including income from supervisory board mandates!) . And this is listed monthly on the committee information system website for each individual elected official. You are welcome to list which amounts of money are (actually) given to the city administration, the parties or voter groups.

I would emphasize this demand by publishing the corresponding income and expenses as a city councilor on my blog every month until it is implemented.
