EU summit

Right from the start, the EU summits were more of an anti-European instrument and were therefore never originally intended by the founding fathers of the EU. So it's amazing that we Europeans are now suddenly expecting European solutions from the heads of state and government of the EU member states. If you look around, you only find nationalists and at best a few superstate Europeans — European nationalists (!). Luxembourg can continue to be considered an exception.

This is why these EU summits have so far at best served as a show for well-known and well-liked egomaniacs and have mostly ensured that the EU has not been able to develop further in a positive way.

So it's amazing that after all these years we expect European solutions to our global problems and challenges from the EU summits. Recently, this has not worked either in the case of migration movements or climate change and will therefore not work in the case of energy supply either.

The summit participants are only halfway in agreement when it comes to distributing funds or delaying problems.

And anyone who now expects the EU heads of state and government to suddenly take an interest in our European values or even human rights has probably spent the last few decades on another planet.

It's just a pity that people are now looking to blame our Europe and that many now want to flee to exactly that place, namely into the clutches of nationalism, where the root causes of all evil lie!

We Europeans never, ever wanted a European superstate and certainly not a central administration in Brussels. From the start, we wanted the United States of Europe — a federal state; exactly as, or at least similar to, how we created it in the Federal Republic of Germany.

With that we would have solved many of our current problems long ago and would also be well prepared for future challenges!

If we still want to save ourselves and Europe, then we urgently need a constitutional convention that creates the federal state of Europe — the anti-democrats and anti-Europeans can — no, they must — then stay outside.

If we want to save ourselves, then we don't need an EU summit, but a European Parliament that finally does its homework! And in it people's representatives who don't dance to the tune of our national populists, but start to stand up for the rights and interests of us Union citizens and sue them loudly and clearly for us - even against their own national colleagues!

And if our parliaments in Europe - the European Parliament as well as the national parliaments - continue to fail in all European affairs as they have in recent years, then things will not only look very bad for Europe, but for all of us.

Exercise

Word is finally getting around that Heilbronn, with its catchment area of almost 500 people, is also a popular shopping destination. Not only since the pandemic restrictions ended, new and interesting shops have settled in the city center and thus signal that you can definitely earn your own living with good business ideas.

And one or the other niche shop is still holding up very bravely and delights its customers. And since people have always enjoyed eating and drinking in Heilbronn, new and very promising gastronomic ideas are also coming to the city. The Berliner Platz will soon offer a very interesting selection of new and existing places to eat, so I'm already looking forward to spring when I can sit there in the sunshine and look at the lively and colorful life.

hope

In the coalition negotiations that are now starting, Michael George Link MdB sit at the table, namely in matters of European and foreign policy. That's a good thing, because the other interlocutors continue to see Europe only as a further opportunity for redistribution or as a projection screen for great power fantasies.

So there is hope that Germany will not only continue to commit itself to a future federal state of Europe, but will also take the necessary steps to do so.
