Conversation

At the start of the week there was a very informative and instructive conversation Detlef Stern, which this time took place with the help of a video chat.

An advantage of this is that you can immediately transfer the necessary documents to each other or work together on presentations. And so I found out in passing that there will soon be further improvements to the Zettelstore and thus also to my own Zettelkasten.

Insights

The past weekend has not been short on insights, and so I will have more to do in the coming weeks than I could have imagined in my wildest dreams at the beginning of the weekend.

Now these findings have to be sorted and classified first and then I have to see how I can best deal with them. I also sent out two requests over the weekend so that I might be able to settle one or the other matter through official channels. I have also sent out a few appointment requests and hope that I can already adjust my appointment calendar accordingly today.

Oh, and then has Elon Musk also Donald Trump easier return to the presidency. I've blocked his account before so I don't get overwhelmed with nonsense. However, I will probably not be spared from blocking more Twitter accounts, namely those weirdos who probably have nothing else to do than share Trump tweets.

And to top it all off, the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung put an article about Heilbronn in the F+ section just as I became aware of it.

bookseller

I'm always happy when booksellers order my books and then I try to post the books the next day at the latest. In addition to the usual discount — booksellers also have to make a living from something — I also cover the postage costs, I just don’t want to lag behind Amazon Prime in this regard.

And so I'm a little surprised when, after more than a week, you have to ask if the books have arrived at all. Since I send my books on account, it would be very easy to pay the enclosed invoice after receipt of the books and I could save myself the enquiries.

It's only annoying when the books just haven't arrived at the bookseller's. It's gratifying that there are still booksellers where the whole thing always works without any major problems.

  • Books can be sent with Deutsche Post/DHL as a cheap "book shipment". However, she is then on the road for a very long time because she is not given preferential transport. I once waited over 3 weeks for a self-published book.
That's the price for cheap postage...

    • I did not know that! I'll have to ask the post office about that. But I can't imagine that they go to the trouble of sorting their shipments and then, quite logically, sending two vehicles on the route. But it wouldn't surprise me anymore.
