pipe dreams

Mayors and local councilors like to adorn themselves with things that have no substance but are always well received by their voters; at least as long as they don't receive an invoice for these fantasies.

By now, everyone in Heilbronn should know that the Radhaus is only beneficial for a few people. We citizens are paying the price for this nonsense and cyclists continue to lack parking spaces for their bikes.

The fact that this is only the tip of the iceberg is shown by another “project” from the mayor, who long ago publicly announced a solution for the Wollhaus. And shortly afterwards, a slightly smaller company actually presented a really attractive solution for the wool house. However, upon closer inspection, the interested viewer has a few concerns, such as: B. with the targeted cost estimate of approx. 100 million euros. And shortly afterwards there is a creak in the rafters and the Heilbronner Stimme (October 21.10.2023, 27: XNUMX) reports on disagreements between the investor and his architect.

Which doesn't bother the mayor and our local councilors, as long as they can continue to build their cloud cuckoo homes at our expense.

The mayor and the local councilors could very easily develop at least a little sense of reality and, for example, B. ensure that our parking garages in the city center do not close at 20 p.m. It's a very unpleasant experience for out-of-town guests when you find out at 20.01:XNUMX p.m. on a Friday that you can't get your car out of the parking garage until after the weekend.

Concept

We were already working on Thursday Herbert Burkhardt and I tinkered around a bit with our campaign concept, which ultimately stands or falls with the financing, which the Free Voters receive solely from their own resources and donations. Even though we have decided to use most of the templates from the 2019 local council election campaign, it is definitely sustainable.

I have to have the basic principles of the election campaign ready to present by next Saturday, as we will then present this to our members. And as soon as they have approved it, we will start the detailed planning. This ensures that each of our 40 candidates has enough time to introduce themselves to their fellow citizens.

We think that this is the right way, because it means that we also give younger or less well-known candidates the chance to keep up with the “older warriors” who almost everyone in Heilbronn already knows. The idea behind it is that we all our 40 candidates We want to advertise in the best possible way, because we are convinced that every single one of them would make a good local councilor.

And so we now have eight months to convince our fellow citizens of this.

miscellany

If you have nothing else to do, just set up an information stand at the SPD state party conference; but only because it is once again taking place in Heilbronn and the EUROPA-UNION is represented in all democratic parties in the country. And when you're asked so nicely by the state manager, there's hardly any excuse.

And so I'm very curious to see who the SPD delegates are today at our stand stopped by?

The highlight of yesterday was a cup of coffee Detlef Stern, which we enjoyed in the university cafeteria. You can say what you want, the buildings are in good condition and next to the canteen there is another building growing out of the ground that already looks very impressive. The “university hardware” should be working slowly but surely, now all that’s left is for the “software” to follow suit. But that definitely has something to do with the attractiveness of the city itself. In addition, the “University” of Heilbronn cannot (yet) peddle scientists who attract students from all parts of the republic, even if they hold their lectures in the tent. And attractive university buildings alone are not enough for that long; you also need affordable student accommodation and other things that are simply part of student life - but thanks Dieter schwarz Heilbronn is already on the right track.

And while I'm on the subject of dreaming, consider Heilbronn as a university, space and AI location Supercomputer also quite good, which gives our scientists and their students the opportunity to research and develop.

After coffee, Detlef and I made a pilgrimage to Damm Elementary School together to read to a fourth grade class as reading sponsors.

My better half and I spent the evening not dancing, but bowling, which we also used to inform Heilbronn federalists about the results of the last federal congress.
