I like to use the time periods for my appointments to tinker a little with my websites. This time it is increasingly the case of the Free Voters. As soon as I have made the changes including a new logo, software for photo display is added. This can be used to spruce up the subpages for our candidates that are also yet to be created - at least that's how I imagine it.

And while I was at it, I once again treated this blog to a few social media buttons; But this is only because I really like them at the moment. I doubt whether these buttons actually make sense, at least for my weblog.

Differences

Sometimes differences are quite small, but subtle. Now that we Free Voters in Heilbronn have our name back and are therefore the only Free Voters, we now face a new challenge, namely that the Free Voters Party in Bavaria is currently in the state election campaign and is obviously on the right in terms of party politics Spectrum classifies.

And so it becomes quite difficult to explain to our fellow citizens the difference between the Free Voters in Baden-Württemberg, who continue to be exclusively local political voting communities and do not pursue any party political goals, and the party in Bavaria.

Even if some people think that an “Aiwanger effect” could help us, I have to insist that we Heilbronn Free Voters have nothing in common with this party and certainly nothing in common with the at least eccentric views of the chairman there.

We want to continue to take care of local politics in Heilbronn and, as citizens of Heilbronn, look for the best solutions for our city and, if necessary, fight for them. And so our election slogan from the last election campaign still fits perfectly: Free instead of party!

Weekend Trip

At the end of the month it got really busy again and, contrary to my expectations, the appointments didn't get any fewer. In any case, it remains very exciting and I don't even have to miss my lectures anymore; However, I continue to read aloud at Damm Elementary School and tutor at Meseno on Fridays. I was very happy about that Detlef Stern noted my absence from the university and brings alternative options for a shared coffee into play.

My better half still managed to let me dance twice, and a surprising donation to meseno meant that I was allowed to travel on the meseno bus on Saturday and Sunday - which, by the way, I took again today the northern part of our district.

Meanwhile, dozens of apartment hunters are also contacting me who are interested in the cute two-room apartment I advertised here. And so there will probably be a few more viewing appointments in the next two weeks.

My focus of the weekend was the general meeting of the Free Voters, where we changed the name and statutes and elected our 40 candidates for the upcoming local council election. At this point I would also like to thank all members and our candidates who are embarking on the “adventure” of exercising their right to vote and will hopefully experience a very exciting election campaign with me in the coming months.

And this general meeting also needs to be followed up, with changes to the statutes resulting in yet another pile of tasks and activities.

At the end of the weekend I was able to send out my two club newsletters and start this blog post.
