If we want to save our forest, then it's not about the forest or individual trees, but about the yield that can be obtained from the tree plantations and about the recreational value for us humans. The recreational value is measured by how quickly we can continue to destroy the forest.

That's why trees are now preferred that grow quickly and promise the highest possible yield. Our so-called forest reserves are also the best places to camp or break through the bushes on a bike. And if a tree gets in the way, it will be removed as quickly as possible.

Nature conservation, another hollow term that is supposed to guarantee us humans a good feeling when it comes to our destruction of nature and pollution — environmental destruction de luxe, for which we not only have tons of experts, but now entire parties.

Hotel

In every mission, whether fictitious or even war, there is a hotel that, apparently untouched by the outside world, serves as a gathering point for a very illustrious society. Ranging from journalists, people from aid organizations or criminal organizations, politicians, secret service agents, administrative officials, press officers to soldiers on the ground who are urgently looking for necessary information, you can already spot this type of hotel guest in the lobby.

The first thing that catches your eye are veteran and sometimes well-known journalists who provide entertainment with a whiskey drink. They are surrounded by young journalists or young members of parliament who like to follow these stories and later receive further training in one-on-one meetings in the hotel room - this is probably how many a career was started.

The bar is crowded with those looking for business or with information to offer. And in the restaurant the other war tourists who only wanted to be there once.

This hotel is always a very special world, which, depending on the location, develops its own unmistakable charm, which the hotel guests still like to think back to years later, especially when there was actually a little "shooting around" in front of the hotel — by whom completely secondary.

Experts

Germany's experts are killing us all again. No matter where you look, you're served up an expert. At least in the area in which I am a little familiar, I have to state again and again that I cannot understand what actually makes these fellow citizens experts.

These usually come from think tanks, universities or other institutions and know everything very well and much better than those who have worked in this field for decades.

It is now an inner joy for me to see that these experts, who are poaching in my profession, have obviously and for everyone recognizable completely failed.

But they will explain verbosely and fill whole books with why reality was wrong, real life and ultimately soldiers are to blame - that's always well received, especially in Germany. And is probably the basis of German expertise, namely assigning the blame to others.

Just one example, a few years ago a few soldiers had to be transferred to a whole new mission at short notice on a political whim. I had the pleasure of being there myself.

We were not allowed to do our own research or reconnaissance, but experts did it for us, who then gave us all the information before departure.

The result, figuratively speaking, was that we arrived in Antarctica kitted out for a beach holiday and were ultimately responsible for the entire mess.

Two things are again for sure in today's and much bigger mess. First, experts are always right and never responsible. And secondly, politics ensures that once again it was only the military that failed - and they will find experts again to confirm this; if necessary, a general must explain it.
