Sensors

Small sensors have been making my life easier for a while now. According to Abbott, I have to replace them every fortnight in case everything works as intended. Unfortunately, these sensors have had a problem for quite a while. First there was delivery problems, which have since been resolved.

But now I've been struggling with the quality of the sensors for a long time. As a result, my arms are pricked more than necessary and returns are piling up at my house. As soon as a replacement arrives, which I have always received, I send the corresponding defective sensor back to Abbott. This is now happening at intervals of between one and five days.

And so I must have spoken personally to most of Abbott's service staff by now. First you have to go through the usual bots or if you fill out the form provided, you end up back at the said bots. So at least I save myself wasting time with the forms.

After the bots you almost feel like Lara Croft or Indiana Jones and always reaches friendly employees with the most diverse knowledge of German. Regardless of this, you go through further tests until you finally get the assurance that you will get a free replacement sensor. So far, however, no one has asked how my arms are doing, which I probably get perforated to varying depths and coarseness depending on the quality of the sensor, not to mention the stains left by the adhesive.

I still see it as a sport and I firmly believe that my arms can last longer than Abbott can produce poorly functioning sensors, because in the long run Abbott should also have better product quality. I do not hope that Abbott will dispose of the less well-produced sensors in this way and want to minimize its own losses through "trial and error" on the part of the customer.

Once all the formalities are done, I treat myself to the bots at the end of the process to evaluate Abbott's quality and service, because customer satisfaction is part of the company's philosophy.

Start of the week

The start of the week went quite well. First the usual ride with the meseno bus and then a coffee with my parents. My car is now getting a new side mirror, because the old one had obviously been acquainted with another car or other road user for a while. In any case, none of us had found a corresponding card or even just a piece of paper behind the windshield.

This week is fully booked with club activities, including two award ceremonies for the European competition and towards the end the now traditional European barbecue in Untergruppenbach. In the middle of the week, the students at the university write their long-awaited exam with me; I hope to have corrected this a week later. Then this semester is over for me too. I have already said goodbye to the elementary school children for the holidays, but at meseno there will probably be a holiday program again.

And if there's time, there's still a dance evening and a few laps in the swimming pool. Because of our new joint sporting endeavor Detlef Stern still have to wait a while, I'm still hoping for a cup of coffee after the exam.

Election campaign

The election campaign for the municipal council elections has now also begun in Heilbronn. The parties are now vehemently demanding what they always demanded before elections and then forgot again after the elections at the latest. So you can also see the recent push by the CDU for more controls in road traffic. It's also funny that the SPD is now behind its members of the Bundestag Josip Juratovic sharp, whom she herself would rather be rid of yesterday than today; which is irrelevant, however, since it is "only" about local council elections in the near future, whereby the SPD, by the way, has no problems with their AfD comrades in the Heilbronn local council. And the Greens are again emphasizing their penchant for environmental protection, which they otherwise like to ignore, like just yesterday when fireworks were set off in Heilbronn in a completely pointless way. In more future-oriented cities, such environmentally damaging spectacles have long since been more than spectacularly replaced by drone formation flights. In our space, university, research and AI city of Heilbronn, which is so active according to the parties, this would actually be long overdue. One could certainly also calculate how many months one could do without the environmental restrictions on traffic in Heilbronn.

It is annoying, however, that the parties all recently unanimously rejected the motions of the Free Voters for increased funding for our public schools, only to come up with their own funding demands shortly before the election. Or, like the city leaders recently, they simply see these problems in our schools as "multidimensional challenges" and continue to wait for these problems to solve themselves.

A good education, a modern infrastructure, order and cleanliness would actually be the most urgent tasks of a city and therefore also those of the municipal council and the city administration. There would also be enough apartments. They should meet these challenges together and first of all, but unfortunately the parties and the city leaders are increasingly focusing on devoting themselves to all other beautiful things. Everyone does what they want there and no one what they should. And finally, everyone praises each other again at the hare meal or other elite meetings and negotiate the next mayoral or other administrative posts. It goes well with the fact that the city leaders are increasingly dressing in dirndls and lederhosen, because our professional politicians know exactly what the citizens actually want.

We Free Voters are also on the move, but we are looking to see where our fellow citizens really have problems, most recently at the Paul Meyle School, among others. This week alone we are meeting twice in the board of directors to discuss how we can best shape the upcoming election campaign, among other things. We hope that the voters will give us faction status again with their votes, so that we can better represent our legitimate demands for the benefit of the city in the municipal council.

If you too are convinced that local politics works better without partisan political wrangling, then please take the opportunity and support us now. We Free Voters work purely on a voluntary basis for free and support ourselves solely through our own membership fees and donations.
