Grants

As we recently learned, the Heilbronn fire department also receives significant funding from the EU budget. It is common practice across Europe to make the receipt of EU funding public by labeling the relevant buildings and facilities.

Not so in Heilbronn, where the fire brigade even refused to receive a 112 license plate for their vehicles, which is common throughout Europe. The EUROPA-UNION has been criticizing this Heilbronn practice for years, and I don't understand why the receipt of European funding is so obscured and why our city budget as a whole has to be so little transparent. Slowly but surely this reminds me more and more Victor Orban and his games.

200 000

This is today's number. This figure comes from the Neue Zürcher Zeitung (January 17.1.2024, 5.30: XNUMX:XNUMX a.m) and is one of the Ukrainian conscripts who came to us alone before their deployment for her own Press country. Each of these deserters, or at least they are disgusting shirkers, cost us around 500 euros a month (maintenance). That's around 100 million euros of tax money every month, which is more than urgently needed, for example. B. needed by the Bundeswehr. Calculated per year, that's a good 1 billion euros in tax money!

Now I hope that Ukraine will finally ask our authorities to extradite at least the official deserters to Ukraine. Ukraine has been lacking its own soldiers for some time now and so the extradition of criminals - who, by the way, are not asylum seekers - would be very quick and effective help - a win-win situation for both sides.

Bucket list

Every spouse probably knows what a bucket list is. These are the nice little tasks that your better half has given you over the years and certainly with the expectation that they will be completed promptly.

Two days ago I was busy cleaning up our Advent calendar, which has been reusable for years. I noticed the leftover candles and decided to put them away too. A box with more leftover candles fell into my hands and I remembered where I had seen them before. Namely in Stettin around 2003, when there was an increased need for candles due to occasional power outages. At that time we decided to switch to beeswax candles and my better half came up with the idea that I could cast new ones from the leftovers.

And so for the last two days I've been setting up a candle factory and making new candles out of about six liters of wax. At first I wanted to make some, but then I decided to make new candles for the Advent wreath. I'm quite happy with my products; a candle is already burning next to my laptop as a test.

I can therefore assure existing and future better halves with a clear conscience that a husband completes the tasks assigned to him, even if this sometimes takes a little longer.

Post Scriptum

As soon as it was written, there was a subtle reference next to the candle to another task that I could have, should, should, wanted to have done a little longer...
