Europe ball

There is still good news. And so slowly but surely the first ball registrations are coming in. We haven't even designed our advertising flyer yet. I'm also very pleased that some EUROPA-UNION partner clubs are already participating so actively in the run-up to the ball.

But I am particularly pleased that the democratic factions in the local council recognize and support the intention and idea of the Heilbronn Federalists. When it comes to the European Parliament and local council elections, it is very important that all democrats pull together and in one direction! We all still want a federal democracy - that is the unifying bond. We all also want a Europe that is as united as possible - some of us even want a European federal state. How we can best achieve this is the democratic point of contention, where we have to discuss, debate and debate very happily and very vigorously and ultimately make decisions through elections.

Our Europe is culture, politically as well as socially. And what better way to explain this to our fellow citizens than to yourself Europe ball in harmony? Under the motto “Europe is dancing!” we will work together to promote our Europe, our democracy and the highest possible voter turnout.

The city councilors from the CDU, the FDP, the Free Voters and the SPD are already at the Europa Ball! We democratic Europeans are showing unity and using the opportunity to present ourselves and our ideas to an interested public. It is very practical that ball visitors can view relevant information and election programs in the foyer and take them with them. But our partner clubs also use the opportunity to introduce themselves.

Our Europe is simply diverse and colorful. And you can enjoy this colorful diversity to the fullest at the Europa Ball!

Pub crawl

Committed club members are pure bliss and so yesterday I was able to turn my usual walk through the city into a short hike. Because a few European federalists wanted to visit benches on the Wartberg again, which are now named after former club members. On the way we were also provided with mulled wine and tea and ended up at the end when it got a little cooler Rolf Heinrich.

And from the broom we went to Emma23 because a member of the German-African Association had invited us. Emma reminds me of one or two other Heilbronn bars around 1980 and the music that the DJ plays also fits quite well. So I like going there, even if I easily doubled my average age yesterday. Which didn't bother the other guests to challenge my better half and me at table football. They did quite well in individual games, but as a team we were hopelessly lost - football, no matter in what form, was never really my thing.

A nice gesture from the winners to want to give us revenge the next time we visit the pub.

Split buns

I regularly receive thoughts and comments from Chris Kurbjuhn washed into the inbox. Today he writes the following at the end of his post:

“At the local level, it is pretty clear how to successfully fight the AfD: in places where 'carers' are mayors, i.e. people who look after the interests of the citizens and have understandable policies with the aim of improving people's lives To make it easier to operate, the Nazi stinky socks don't cut it. This also makes the federal political problem clear: With Merz and Scholz, there are two guys at the start who are the exact opposite of carers.”
