Roast beef with onions
The onion roast is simply part of our regional cuisine and we can be proud that the Viennese have also included the onion roast in their repertoire. However, I can't say who is considered to be the originator of it, only to the extent that we eat it with spaetzle, or, if you don't want it to be a full meal, with bread, but in any case with more than enough sauce Mistake.
When I was young, roast onion roast was one of my favorite dishes. In the 1970s to the early 1980s there was the best onion roast in Donnbronn. Later, for me, the one at Hessersbeck was the best roast in the city, which was also seen as such by most European regulars.
There is now the best onion roast in the Ratskeller and that's since yesterday bakery at least in the running for me. Both onion roasts leave nothing to be desired and the better roast will probably depend on the choice of meat. If you don't know the bakery yet, I recommend a visit.

At the beginning of every month I meet up with like-minded people for regular meetings. The European get-together has now been taking place without interruption for two decades. This regulars' table is characterized by the fact that it covers the entire spectrum of the democratic spectrum. This could explain why it has existed and continues to exist over the years.
The topics not only depend on the day, but are also related to the interests of the respective participants. Sometimes the get-together is calm and completely relaxed, but sometimes it is controversial and very demanding for all participants. The recipe for success is probably the healthy mix.
At yesterday's European get-together, a well-known topic was taken up again, namely professional politics. There was a discussion about the effects that are solely due to the fact that some fellow citizens base their entire existence on elective office. Across all party lines, everyone present came to the conclusion that this is the wrong path for any democracy! There was a brief discussion about why our republic has developed into a professional democracy in the first place, but then all the discussants unanimously looked for viable solutions to give us citizens back democracy in its entirety - regardless of whether we actually want it or not.
It would be easiest if we limited all elected political offices to two electoral terms. During the conversation, the participants came to the conclusion that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages and, above all, that this could give our democracy a whole new lease of life.
In this regard, I am convinced that all politicians who make their existence dependent on elective office - regardless of their own morals and competence - will ultimately become gravediggers of our democracy.
