Flag dispute

It is well known that the mayor of Heilbronn does not like the European flag, and some now suspect that they would rather see the flag of the Russian Federation in front of the town hall - after all, they have recently joined forces with self-confessed anti-democrats and aggressive warriors.

However, the behavior of the Heilbronn city leaders regarding the hoisting of an Israel flag is completely pathetic in view of the very tragic events in Israel, where an entire country and its population have to fight for their own existence again.

According to the Heilbronn Voice (October 10, 2023 at 13:35 p.m) “[on Saturday] the Brandenburg Gate shone in the national colors of Israel, blue and white, and showed the Star of David. Stuttgart and many cities in the southwest followed. On Sunday evening, the state capital lowered its flags to half-mast, a sign of mourning. On Monday, the flags of Israel were hoisted in front of the New Palace, the State Parliament and the State Ministry.”

Now the mayor of Heilbronn had to give in and, at least officially, as a city representative, acknowledge a special responsibility towards Israel and the Jewish people and have the flag of Israel raised in front of the Heilbronn town hall.

Credibility is different!

And now no one will probably ask themselves why there hasn't been one to date synagogue in Heilbronn - Stuttgart and Ulm have already had one again for a long time.

Addendum

Here you will find today's letter from the chairman of the German Israeli Society Heilbronn, Bernd Summer:

Addendum 11.10.2023

During the night the flag was torn down and desecrated by a few people from Heilbronn. Luckily, the administration decided to raise a new flag right away.

Here you can find the corresponding reaction Bernd Sommer:

social quota

The majority of our local councilors are also not interested in how we Heilbronn residents live. The SPD even celebrates the fact that it has implemented a flexible social quota in housing construction. This means that investors never really know where they stand in Heilbronn and also have to constantly strive to ensure that the mood in each individual local council is as good as possible, so that the new project has the lowest possible social quota fewer parking spaces per residential unit and the assumption of other costs, such as: B. for green spaces or neighborhood garages by the city.

To further increase the uncertainty for potential investors, even more wonderful ideas and idea competitions are being added, which far exceed even the existing requirements of our existing building regulations and guidelines.

The whole thing then becomes even more exciting for the developers, because they never really know whether there will (still) be sufficient infrastructural connections to the new building after construction is completed - all the houses could suddenly be at the end of a dead end and local public transport won't even be available into the quarter. Let's leave aside the tragedy of a fiber optic connection. There is also the question of whether the children of the future residents will even be able to access a kindergarten or a school - no one expects swimming pools and sports fields anymore.

Is it any wonder that there is hardly enough living space left in Heilbronn for today's residents of Heilbronn - not to mention for future new residents.

piles of garbage

When I informed the city administration about a mountain of rubbish yesterday using the Heilbronn defect report app, this time I was immediately made aware that at least three citizens had already reported this pile of rubbish in the last few days. Then I was asked whether I still wanted to send this message.

By now the garbage was already stinking to high heaven and I was only appeased a little when a Syrian, shaking his head, commented on the whole thing as follows: “Heilbronn stop”. Then I thought about how my Turkish neighbor even sweeps the street in front of her house at least once a week, not to mention the sidewalk.

Which proves once again that decency and hard work, as well as all other positive values, are not national characteristics, but are simply part of being a good person!

Unfortunately, there are more and more dirty pigs living in Heilbronn, which, as I always emphasize, could be changed quickly with more education and would also have to be enforced through quick and strict punishment.

Unfortunately, the majority of our local council is rather anti-education and has no interest in ensuring peace, order and cleanliness in our city. And our mayor also has other goals - a functioning city administration is clearly not one of them!

Addendum 11.10.2023

And the city of Heilbronn was also busy and at least had the bulky waste cleared away. As a garbage worker assured me, it was still common practice under the last mayor to remove every garbage bag immediately, because at that time people still knew that a bag left lying around would inevitably lead to a second and third one, etc.
