If it weren't so tragic, I could enjoy Epiphany a little today and also reminisce about when I regularly made pilgrimages to Stuttgart with my father over four decades ago to fulfill our delegate function for a party there. There you met nice people from all over the country and had a lot of fun afterwards and not just at the obligatory ceremony. Later, when there were serious and deep turf wars within the party, these were also fought very violently and sometimes below the belt, but always on the basis of our basic democratic order.

All of this changed as a result of the spiritual and moral change and led me to handing back my party membership card in disgust. And since that time, customs in the West as a whole have become more and more brutalized, and further brutalization has continued to occur from the East. My grandmother from Königsberg would definitely say that nothing good has ever come from the East.

Three years ago, the whole thing culminated in the storm of the socially despised people (vulgar: the mob), which were demonstrably led by totalitarians, on the Capitol in Washington in order to prevent the installation of a democratically elected president and to establish a dictatorship. Certain political circles in the West have already sunk so low that it is no longer enough for them to simply influence elections in their favor through vote buying, blackmail or legal electoral tricks. Since then, and now also in our country, they have been regularly staging the Hitler Putsch in order to fight for them To create a future tradition for our clientele - we've had it all before and it was demonstrably not good at all!

Not only in the USA, but also here in Germany, the totalitarian circles - left and right (!) - are practicing and are once again supported and strengthened by supposedly conservative circles. Only now and then, when it seems politically opportune, do people demonize the other side's anti-democratic attacks - and we've already had this too, so we got rid of the Weimar Republic together.

Stalinists and National Socialists - let's call them by their names - are taking action against our democracies. The former seem in Vladimir Putin to have found their provisional leader; the latter, thank God, are still looking - including here in Germany. Which should not motivate a senile opposition leader to serve as interim leader to the mob; he would only give the Hindenburg again.

Today, on the third anniversary of the storming of the Capitol, you can read it in the FAZ (6.1.2024, 8.26 clock) read that the Republicans are trivializing this attack on their democracy, and one in three Republicans is already falling for the National Socialist myths that go hand in hand with such a tradition. And conservative judges are once again ensuring that criminals get away scot-free. — today is a day of déjà vu!

And here too we traditionally like to demonize the attacks of “left-wing terrorists” and are not at all squeamish about what is considered terrorism. But things are even worse for those who are not totalitarians.

A German who could pass for “queer” is now in prison faster than he can light up a joint. If he is so stupid and gets stuck on a street, he can completely forget about his future - he no longer has one here in Germany!

His mistake was that he should have either committed himself to the fifth column in advance or, better yet, declared this a sacrifice for the Führer. Democratic actions, no matter how stupid, find no mercy before our judges - it has always been that way and will continue to be that way.

The whole thing looks different if you want to storm the Bundestag or completely abolish the Federal Republic through a coup, because then you will receive a maximum of “fortress imprisonment” and as a respected citizen of our society you can write books in peace - as we know, these become bestsellers!

Yesterday a mob of farmers, clearly incited by brown manure, tried to Robert Habeck and lynching his family - as we will soon learn, these were all just democratic protests by angry and worried citizens who simply do not want to accept that they are receiving less subsidies from the state than before. And not only representatives of our Union parties have long since shown solidarity with these yesterday's terrorists, but also National Socialists and Stalinists - which should actually give a democrat something to think about.

The terrible thing is that, in contrast to the USA, not only the group of socially despised people can be mobilized again to fight against our democracy, but almost all sections of the population who believe that things will be better for them under a dictatorship for a little longer are now mobilizing again than in our democracy, which now hardly has enough money to continue to buy its democrats - and here too, good education would have been better!

And our democratic elite continues to firmly believe, as they did during the Weimar Republic, that they can keep the whole thing stalling until they have finished living their own lives - and then the flood after them.

If our democracy and especially its democratic elites do not take more courageous action in the next few days, weeks and months, then the deluge will once again come a little faster than we would all like.
