Digitalization

Refugees who are not exactly from medieval cultures are very surprised when they first encounter West German structures, from our bureaucracy to the school.

However, this is not because we cannot digitalize, but because we tend to use our state institutions to accommodate people who can hardly be employed productively in business and society. And you can't expect these people to be able to cope with modern technology.

Church

It's been a while since I was baptized and confirmed. I was also a regular churchgoer for years, but one who was bothered from the beginning by the fact that the Protestant church was increasingly becoming a storm troop of left-wing parties and that religion was increasingly falling behind among the paid Christians (pastors and entourage). .

For years I consoled myself with the fact that the church is at least still charitable or diaconal. But now it is becoming more and more apparent that this is also just a pretext to guarantee the paid Christians and now even shabby party politicians a good living — at the expense of all church members, the tax-paying general public and the weakest members of our society.

I have never had the need to listen to tirades of hate against freedom and democracy during an Easter service and to be asked to understand mass murderers - especially those with a supposedly Soviet attitude. The fact that the church is now railing against a necessary minimum level of equipment for the Bundeswehr at Easter is now making me think about leaving the church for the first time.

The church tax I paid could certainly do some good.

Twitter

Right from the start, this “social medium” has always boasted very illustrious users who, although they have not pushed the service, which has been listed on the stock exchange since 2013, into the profit zone, have made it one of the most important microblogging services in the world. One can also assume that some users, let's say e.g. b. Donald Trump, would probably never have become so successful without their Twitter followers. And so it is not surprising that others are now trying to use this short message service for their own careers or other projects. And those who can afford it will probably also try to avoid being banned by Twitter - let's take this, for example. b. Elon Musk.

Elon Musk, who now has an unbelievable 42 million so-called followers on Twitter, no longer wants or can afford to do without this following, especially if he still hopes to pursue his own political career.

However, the vast majority of Twitter users are likely to be far less popular, and so one could assume that they expect some fame of their own through their tweets. What is far worse, however, is that Twitter has now become another advertising platform for companies, parties or other organizations, whereby they throw the most impossible advertising messages at each other. And who, such as B. I, who has repeatedly tried to use Twitter as a practical and free means of communication, finds myself being drawn ever deeper into this vortex.

Selbst Detlef Stern, who is a longtime and knowledgeable Twitter user, recently cites doubts.

"Twitter is still annoying. In the context of a tweet (We're in the midst of an information war, and we're unwilling soldiers in it. Share responsibly.) I have decided not to leave any space for fake news and other propaganda in my timeline. This is especially true for those who retweet any nonsense without thinking too much. The person himself may be quite nice in person. Just not on Twitter.”

Detlef Stern, Excerpt from the long week of April 11.4.22, XNUMX

The original users have already said goodbye to most social media and left the field to the trolls and other people. Twitter may still have the most loyal original users to date. I'm curious, how much longer?
