Small pleasures

After neither the swimming nor the city walk was a pleasant thing today, I invited my better half for a cup of Ethiopian coffee.

Since the plane, ship or train spotting in Heilbronn doesn't work that well or hardly anymore, we both tried car spotting without further ado.

So we sat in front of the Coffee Bee on the avenue and enjoyed coffee with ginger and the sight of the many cars that just drove up and down the avenue - to each his own.

If either

February 6, 2022 is coming sooner than you think. All Heilbronners - at least those who are older than 16 years, have lived in our city for more than three months and have Union citizenship - are then called upon to elect the new Heilbronner Mayor for eight long years.

In the last election in 2014, only 39 percent of those eligible to vote used their right to vote, which is not at all surprising if you take a closer look at the candidates at the time. And if this time there hadn't been a woman who wanted to defy the Heilbronn clique, the turnout to be expected would have looked even worse.

This Eligible Candidate is Catherine Mikov, who has lived in Heilbronn since 1998. Her topics are inclusion, education and economic development. In real life she runs a speech therapy practice.

We citizens can assume that Mikov would actually take care of the interests of citizens with a migration background and perhaps even not only reactivate the annual citizens' reception of the OB for Heilbronners with a history of immigration, but even that Meeting point Europe back on the Heilbronn agenda.

In any case, and regardless of the candidates, it is very important that as many Heilbronn citizens as possible vote, because only then do the municipal council and the city administration count them as really serious residents. And if you can't vote for any of the three candidates with a clear conscience, you can definitely write your wish OB on the ballot paper - next to Donald Duck or George Clooney there are bound to be other attractive aspirants.

By the way, the application deadline for the mayor election is still Monday, January 10, 2022, 18 p.m.

junk prices

If, as a professional politician, you are well-fed and well-secured, but are otherwise only remembered by your fellow citizens for your deeply corrupt behavior, then you can gossip about supposed junk prices, especially during the Christmas season, and make fun of everyone who still pays for their own have to make ends meet.

With this, this party with its claim to cleanliness has probably finally arrived in the corner of the self-sufficient party, and is currently only surpassed by the CSU, which continues to certify that criminal MPs who have already been convicted are completely in line with their own party principles; this is how one can understand the recent decision of the corresponding compliance commission, which is to further develop the CSU code of ethics.

After green-black in the Ländle, we may even soon see a green-black party merger in Bavaria.
