A novelty in our democracies, because for the first time an entire party is actually being tried and accused as a criminal organization. And this is happening right now in Georgia, the fourth US state, where next to the former President Donald Trump a further 18 Republicans are accused of, among other things, conspiracy against the United States of America.

This is not just any party, such as B. the NPD or the AfD in our country, but a factual state-supporting party for decades, which has probably provided most of the US presidents so far.

This process could be countered with a display Gerhard Schroeder or compare it to a number of CSU politicians who have caused serious damage to the Federal Republic of Germany.

If the US judiciary prevails and breathes new life into democracy in the United States, it will affect all democracies worldwide. And then we have to ask ourselves in Germany, too, whether we shouldn't also be investigating some of our parties.

Until then, we could at least start bringing those politicians to justice who openly oppose our democracy.
