Recently, rumors have been circulating that many companies are no longer able to fill their outrageously expensive headquarters with employees. Currently, even one in five Lidl buildings in Bad Wimpfen is said to be empty; the reasons for this are likely to be manifold. But even much larger company headquarters now seem to be completely oversized.
I am completely relaxed about this and recommend those responsible for the buildings to simply make them available to the public sector.
You could try my guess right away in Bad Wimpfen. The buildings are handed over to the city administration. In five years at the latest, new buildings will be necessary, since the five existing buildings will then no longer be sufficient for administration.
