Since the Treaty of Lisbon came into force on December 1, 2009, we citizens of the European Union have had a uniform set of agreements that grant our elected representatives, whether in the European Parliament, the German Bundestag or one of the state parliaments, more rights to work together with the representatives of the to deepen or simplify existing political structures and rules in other 26 countries and thus to further promote the European idea for the benefit of a "Europe united in diversity". We place our hope in this treaty that the more than 500 million people living in the European Union will not only continue to be able to work, trade and celebrate together peacefully, but that many things will also become simpler, clearer and more comprehensible for us citizens in the medium to long term . We avowed Europeans also hope that the European Union can maintain its attractiveness and effectiveness in order to enable other states of a European nature to join our community. We also hope that in the future we will succeed in giving our Europe a uniform constitution that is essentially based on the values of the "Hertensteiner Program" written in 1946, universal human rights and the European Social Charter - and this for the benefit of Europe, its citizens and the whole world.

Here in the city and district of Heilbronn, citizens of over 120 nationalities have been living together peacefully for decades. Since 1989 and now for the 21st time, we, avowed Europeans, have been celebrating our "Meeting point Europe“ on Kiliansplatz in Heilbronn. With this we want to show our fellow human beings that togetherness is not only better but also nicer, more interesting and more attractive than apathetic coexistence. We want to take away people's fear of the unknown, awaken understanding for other cultures and customs, and win over all fellow citizens to work with us to build a common Europe, its values and ideas.

The EUROPA-UNION Heilbronn also advertises, among other things, information stands and events for our beautiful Europe, organizes trips to the European institutions and to the partner towns and communities of the city and district of Heilbronn. In addition, we offer on our new district association website at www.kvheilbronn.eu Further information and background information about Europe and the European Union. There you can also exchange information with us and each other in forums or simply express your personal opinion about our Europe. We look forward to your visit and your active participation. Of course, you will also find pictures of our events and all the brochures and flyers that have been published to date on our website.

Please support our efforts to further expand Europe in peace, freedom and prosperity and help shape our common future and the future of our children for the benefit of all and contribute to the Lisbon Treaty becoming another building block for our European home.
