As much as I like one or the other city councilor of the CDU, one must be allowed to criticize the approach of the CDU as a citizen. In this year's summer press conference, the city councilors are calling for a number of things worth considering, two points have already been discussed in the weblog.
However, the CDU can now score points with their completely populist demands in the Heilbronner voice, which are obviously intended to skim off the somewhat more simply knitted people of Heilbronn and especially the right-wing fringe of the Heilbronn electorate.
stimme.de currently opens as follows: “Weapons ban zone, more police, video surveillance: demands of the Heilbronn CDU“. The parliamentary group leader is right Thomas Randecker pointed out that the CDU has long been the largest parliamentary group and would like to remain so. But he forgets to tell the people of Heilbronn that the CDU is primarily responsible for the misery that has been denounced!
It is the CDU, which for years has not only completely run down the police force in Baden-Württemberg and is leading it to this day, but at least with it Thomas Strobl the relevant minister.
It is the CDU, which as the largest faction, could have established gun ban zones (whatever that may be!) and video surveillance in Heilbronn long ago. It is the CDU that should have long since ensured that the regulatory office in Heilbronn works, does its job properly and, since it is obviously completely overwhelmed with it, is better supported by the police.
So the CDU continues to do politics by first destroying things and then advocating making them whole again. Since we citizens of the CDU have been letting this policy go by for decades, it is our own fault!
And so the people of Heilbronn will vote for the CDU again and will still not get what they obviously would like to have!
I only advise the CDU city councilors to fish less on the right-hand edge, because in doing so they are strengthening this right-hand edge — AfD and Pro Heilbronn — and run the risk of finishing second this time.
