Something to think about.
Even as a pedestrian, I don't particularly find it exciting when cars pass me just a few centimeters away, which is the case on most sidewalks in the city.
That's why I completely understand why cyclists use the 1,5 meters for themselves.
If cyclists were to transfer this claim to us pedestrians, then it would be completely impossible for cyclists (a total weight of a good 100 kilograms) to rush past us pedestrians at a good 20 kilometers per hour in the pedestrian zone or on the sidewalks, rarely more than 50 centimeters Keep your distance.
What a beautiful world it would be if drivers kept a distance of 1,5 meters and cyclists pushed their bikes on the sidewalks.
