Rainer Maria Rilke is always a good resource when looking for poetry. Today it should be one that was written by him on January 8, 1898 and comes from his volume of poems "Me to the Celebration" (1899); his systematic observation of the human inner world.
You don't have to understand life
You don't have to understand life
then it will be like a festival.
And let it happen to you every day
like a child in moving on from every travail
many flowers can be given.pick them up and save

the child does not understand that.
It softly loosens them from their hair,
where they loved to be trapped
and keeps the dear young years
his hands towards new ones.
His first well-known volume of poetry, the book of hours from 1905, can be admired in Marbach today. The book of hours consists of a total of three books, all with poems written between 1899 and 1903.

In the Jardin des Plantes, ParisSein Blick ist vom Vorübergehn der Stabe
got so tired that he can't hold anything anymore.
Ihm ist, als ob es tausend Stabe gäbe
und hinter tausend Staben keine Welt. The soft gait of supple strong steps,
who turns in the smallest of circles,
is like a dance of power around a center,
in which a great will stands stunned.Only sometimes the curtain pushes the pupil

up silently —. Then an image goes in
goes through the tense silence of the limbs —
und hort im Herzen auf zu sein.

"Tout ceci mène à une reflexion. Les republics finissent par le luxe ; les monarchies par la pauvreté."
Charles de Montesquieu, De l'esprit des lois (1748: 199 – livre VII, chapter IV)
And both are connected by the ICE from Berlin to Hamburg...
When I was in high school, when I had to interpret poems, I asked myself why people wrote such texts. I haven't found the answer until now...
In and with poems one sees the world a little bit differently. It may be interesting for one or the other that the first stories that are still known today were written in rhyme.
