Today it just has to be a contemporary poet. The small disadvantage is that I'm not allowed to post the poem directly on the blog.
That is why I am linking to the poem called “Kindness”. This can be found on “The Marginalian“, a website that has been around for over 17 years now.
Anyone who has read the corresponding volume of poetry “Words under the words: selected poems” (1995) by the author Naomi Shihab Nye If you want to read it, you can borrow it from your local library.
The website WorldCat From Heilbronn, the next place to find the volume of poetry is the University Library of Wuppertal, which, according to WorldCat, is 274 kilometers away.
WorldCat is probably the world's largest library catalog with which you can find library media online, but unfortunately you can't find our own city library there at the moment. Next I see the media library of the city of Neckarsulm (3,5 kilometers), followed by the Abstatt community library and the Bad Rappenau city and spa library, both 12 kilometers away.
Regardless, the poem “Kindness” by Naomi Shihab Nye is worth reading.
